Laurent Eyquem is currently scoring the upcoming Lifetime mini-series The Red Tent. The bible-themed drama is based on the best-selling novel by Anita Diamant and stars Minnie Driver, Morena Baccarin, Rebecca Ferguson, Iain Glen, Will Tudor and Debra Winger. The two-part series tells the story of Dinah, the daughter of Leah and Jacob, who was only referred to in small glimpses in the Old Testament. Roger Young (Lassiter, The Squeze) has directed the series from a script by Elizabeth Chandler (The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, A Little Princess). Paula Weinstein (Blood Diamond, The Perfect Storm, Analyze This) is executive producing the Sony Pictures Television production.

Kevin Kiner (Hell on Wheels, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, CSI: Miami) is composing the show’s score and Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain, The Motorcycle Diaries, Babel) has composed the theme music. John Paesano to Score Marvel’s ‘Daredevil’ Series
John Paesano has been hired to score Marvel’s upcoming Netflix series Daredevil. The show based on the Marvel Comics character and stars Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, Elden Henson, Deborah Ann Woll, Rosario Dawson and Scott Glenn. The series follows the journey of Matt Murdock, who was blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, now fighting against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the super hero Daredevil in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City. Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods, Cloverfield) and Steven S. DeKnight (Spartacus, Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Angel) are executive producing the Marvel Television and ABC Studios with Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Smallville).
David Buckley to Score TNT’s ‘Proof’
David Buckley is set to score the upcoming TNT original series Proof. The supernatural drama stars Jennifer Beals, Matthew Modine, Joe Morton, Callum Blue, Edi Gathegi, Annie Thurman, Sean Gleeson and Caroline Rose Kaplan. The series follows a skeptical, brilliant female surgeon with a caustic edge who has been struggling with the loss of her teenage son and is persuaded to investigate reincarnation, out-of-body experiences, hauntings and other supernatural cases. Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer) is executive producing the project with Rob Bragin (Greek), Tom Jacobson (Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, The Ladykillers), Jill Littman and Alex Graves (The West Wing, Game of Thrones) who also directed the pilot episode.
Kevin Kiner Scoring The CW’s ‘Jane the Virgin’
Kevin Kiner is composing the score for the new CW drama Jane the Virgin. The show is created by Jennie Snyder Urman (Emily Owens MD) based on the Venezuelan telenovela Juana la Virgen and stars Gina Rodriguez, Andrea Navedo, Justin Baldoni, Yael Grobglas, Brett Dier, Ivonne Coll and Jaime Camil. The series follows a hard-working young Latina woman whose family tradition and a vow to save her virginity until her marriage to a detective is shattered when a doctor accidentally artificially inseminates her during a checkup. Snyder Urman is also executive producing the CBS Television Studios and Warner Bros. Television production with Ben Silverman (The Office, Ugly Betty, The Tudors), Gary Pearl, Jorge Granier, as well as Brad Silberling (Casper, Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events) who also directed the pilot episode.
John Debney to Score NBC’s ‘Odyssey’
John Debney has been hired to score the upcoming NBC action drama Odyssey. The show is created by Peter Horton (Grey’s Anatomy, Dirty Sexy Money) and stars Anna Friel, Peter Facinelli, Jake Robinson, Jim True-Forst, Treat Williams, Nate Mooney, Elena Kampouris, Daniella Pineda, Sadie Sink, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Omar Ghazaoui. The series follows a female soldier, a political activist and a corporate lawyer as their lives unexpectedly collide after an international conspiracy explodes. Horton is also executive producing the Universal Television, Fabrik Entertainment and Red Arrow Entertainment Group production with Adam Armus & Nora Kay Foster (The Following, Heroes), Simon Maxwell (Off the Hook), Mikkel Bondesen & Henrik Bastin (Burn Notice, The Killing) and Kristen Campo (The Killing).
Fil Eisler to Score Fox’s ‘Empire’
Fil Eisler has been tapped to score the upcoming Fox drama Empire. The show is created by Lee Daniels (Precious, The Butler & Danny Strong (Recount, Game Change) and stars Terrence Howard, Taraji P. Henson, Gabourey Sidibe, Bryshere Gray, Jussie Smollett, Trai Byers, Malik Yoba, Grace Gealey and Kaitlin Dubleday. The series follows the head of a music empire whose three sons and ex-wife all battle for his throne. Daniels & Strong are also executive producing the Imagine Entertainment and 20th Century Fox Television production with Brian Grazer (Apollo 13, 24, A Beautiful Mind) and Francie Calfo. Daniels also directed the pilot episode. It was previously reported that Timbaland will be writing and producing the original songs for the show.
Dave Porter to Score AMC’s ‘Breaking Bad’ Spinoff ‘Better Call Saul’
The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Dave Porter is set to score the upcoming AMC original series Better Call Saul. The show starring Bob Odenkirk is a spin-off of AMC’s Breaking Bad and focuses on the character of attorney Saul Goodman from the Emmy-winning hit drama. Porter has previously scored all episodes of Breaking Bad. The composer also co-wrote a song for a new music video promoting the show with Adam Dormblum. The song is performed by Junior Brown and features lyrics by series creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould. Check out the music video after the jump. Premiering tonight is the new Fox comedy Mulaney produced by Lorne Michaels (30 Rock) and created by John Mulaney who also stars in the series alongside Seaton Smith, Nasim Pedrad, Martin Short, Elliott Gould and Zack Pearlman. The show’s original score is composed by Matter Music (The New Adventures of Old Christine, Better with You, Friend with Benefits). Mulaney follows a 29-year old rising stand-up comic who is trying to take his career to the next level. The comedy will air every Sunday night on Fox. Premiering on Tuesday, October 7, is the new CW superhero drama The Flash based on the DC Comic and starring Grant Gustin, Jesse L. The show’s original music is composed by Blake Neely (The Mentalist, Resurrection, The Pacific, Life as We Know It) who is also scoring the network’s Arrow, which is returning for a third season. Jeff Beal Takes Over Scoring Duties on HBO’s ‘The Newsroom’
Jeff Beal is composing the music for the third and final season of HBO’s The Newsroom. The show is created by Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing, The Social Network) and stars Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer, Sam Waterston, John Gallagher, Jr., Alison Pill, Thomas Sadoski, Dev Patel and Olivia Munn. The series follows the members of a cable news team on their quixotic mission to do the news well in the face of a fickle audience, corporate mandates and tangled personal relationships. Alex Wurman has previously scored the show’s first season, while Johnny Klimek composed the music for the second season. Thomas Newman provided the series’ main titles theme.
