Tree Adams has been hired to score the upcoming Lifetime original series Lizzie Borden Chronicles. The show stars Christina Ricci, Clea DuVall, Jonathan Banks, John Heard, Cole Hauser and Jessy Schram. Ricci has previously starred in the title role of the Lifetime original movie Lizzie Borden Took an Ax, which was also scored by Adams. The 8-part series centers on the actual events and people surrounding Lizzie’s life after her controversial acquittal of the double murder of her father and stepmother in 1892. Ricci is also executive producing the Sony Pictures Television production with Judith Verno.

John Debney & Bruce Broughton to Score History’s ‘Texas Rising’
John Debney and Bruce Broughton are composing the music for the upcoming mini-series Texas Rising. The 8-parter is directed by Roland Joffe (The Mission, The Killing Fields) and stars Bill Paxton, Brendan Fraser, Ray Liotta, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Olivier Martinez, Thomas Jane, Crispin Glover, Rhys Coiro, Jeremy Davies, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Christopher McDonald, Max Thieriot, Chad Michael Murray, Trevor Donovan, Robert Knepper, Jeff Fahey, Rob Morrow and Kris Kristofferson. The event series centers on Texas legend Sam Houston and follows his fight for Texas’ independence against Mexican general Santa Anna. Leslie Greif is executive producing the A+E Studios, ITV Studios America and Thinkfactory Media production.

Premiering tomorrow, March 9, is the A&E original series The Returned created by Carlton Cuse & Raelle Tucker based on the French series Les Revenants and starring Mark Pellegrino, Tandi Wright, India Ennenga, Sophie Lowe, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jeremy Sisto, Kevin Alejandro, Agnes Bruckner and Sandrine Holt. The show’s original music is composed by Jeff Russo (Fargo, CSI: Cyber, Power) and cellist Zoe Keating. The Returned is set in a small town that is turned upside down when several local people who have been long presumed dead suddenly reappear. The drama will air every Monday night on A&E. Soundtrack for NBC’s ‘Chuck’ to Be Released
Varese Sarabande will release the first soundtrack album for the NBC spy comedy drama Chuck. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Tim Jones (Human Target, The Death and Life of Bobby Z). Also included are three songs by the cover band Jeffster feat. Jeff Barnes (played by Scott Krinsky) and Lester Patel (Vik Sahay). The soundtrack will be released on April 7, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Chuck created by Chris Fedak & Josh Schwartz and stars Zachary Levi, Yvonne Strahovski, Adam Baldwin and Joshua Gomez. The show about a twenty-something computer geek who inadvertently downloads critical government secrets into his brain aired from 2007 and 2012 on NBC.
Soundtrack for Steven Spielberg’s ‘Duel’ Released
Intrada Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1971 television movie Duel directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Dennis Weaver. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Emmy Award-winning composer Billy Goldenberg (Kojak, Columbo, Rhoda, Helter Skelter), including the full score and several radio source music written by the composer. John Nordstrom Scoring TBS’ ‘Your Family or Mine’
John Nordstrom is composing the score for the upcoming TBS original comedy Your Family or Mine. The show is created by Greg Malins (Ground Floor, How I Met Your Mother, Friends) and stars Kat Foster, Kyle Howard, Richard Dreyfuss, JoBeth Williams, Ed Begley Jr. and Stephanie Hunt. The series based on the Israeli sitcom from Keshet International focuses on a different side of young couple’s family each week. Malins is also executive producing the Sony Pictures Television production with Jamie Tarses (Happy Endings, Franklin & Bash), Rubi Duanias, Yaniv Polishuk, Avi Nir & Ran Telem and Tamira Yarden.

Kurt Farquhar to Score ABC Family’s ‘Stitchers’
Kurt Farquhar is composing the score for the upcoming ABC Family drama Stitchers. The show is created by Jeffrey A. Schechter (Overruled!) and stars Emma Ishta, Kyle Harris, Ritesh Rajan, Salli Richardson-Whitfield and Allison Scagliotti. The procedural series follows a young woman recruited into a covert government agency to be ‘stitched’ into the minds of the recently deceased, using their memories to investigate murders and decipher mysteries that otherwise would have gone to the grave. Schechter is also executive producing the project with Jonathan Baruch and Rob Wolken.
Edward Shearmur to Score BBC’s ‘The Outcast’
Edward Shearmur has been hired to score the upcoming BBC mini-series The Outcast. The two-parter is directed by Iain Softley and stars George Mackay, Greg Wise, Hattie Morahan and Jessica Brown Findlay. The drama is based on the bestselling novel by Sadie Jones who also scripted the TV adaptation and follows a young boy who struggles to fit into the life of a post-war English village after witnessing the death of his mother. Christine Langan (The Queen) & Beth Pattinson are executive producing the project for BBC, alongside Pete Czernin & Graham Broadbent (The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, In Bruges) for Blueprint Pictures.
Fox’s ‘Weird Loners’ to Feature Music by Lyle Workman
Lyle Workman is composing the score for the upcoming Fox comedy Weird Loners. The show is created by Michael J. Weithorn (The King of Queens, Ned and Stacey) and stars Becki Newton, Zachary Knighton, Nate Torrence and Meera Rohit Kumbhani. The series follows four relationship-phobic people who are unexpectedly thrust into each other’s lives and form an unlikely bond in a Queens, New York townhouse. Weithorn is also executive the 20th Century Fox Television Fox production with Melvin Mar (New Girl) and Jake Kasdan (Bad Teacher, Sex Tape) who also directed the pilot episode.
