Jeff Russo has been tapped to score the upcoming Spike TV original miniseries Tut. The limited series is directed by David Von Ancken (Seraphim Falls, Californication) and stars Avan Jogia, Ben Kingsley, Alexander Siddig, Nonso Anozi, Iddo Goldberg, Peter Gadiot, Sibylla Deen and Kylie Bunbury. The 6-parter tells the story of Tutankhamun, aka King Tut, the youngest Pharaoh to rule Ancient Egypt, whose famous golden sarcophagus has become one of the symbols of the ancient civilization. Joel S. Rice and Michael Prupas (The Pillars of the Earth, Being Human, The Kennedys) are executive producing the project for Muse Entertainment, alongside Michael Vickerman (Warriors of Virtue), Bradley Bredeweg, Peter Paige & Greg Gugliotta (The Fosters), Jeremy Elice and Angela Mancuso.

Premiering tonight is the National Geographic Channel original movie Killing Jesus directed by Christopher Menaul and stars Kelsey Grammer, Stephen Moyer, Emmanuelle Chriqui, John Rhys Davies, Rufus Sewell, Eoin Macken, Aneurin Barnard, Vernon Dobtcheff, Tamsin Egerton and John Lynch. The film’s original music is composed by Emmy Award winner Trevor Morris (The Tudors, The Borgias, Vikings, Immortals, Olympus Has Fallen). The 3-hour TV event is based on the best-selling book by Bill O’Reilly and chronicles the life of Jesus of Nazareth through the retelling of the political, social and historical conflicts during the Roman Empire. Premiering on Tuesday, March 31 is the CBS mini-series The Dovekeepers directed by Yves Simoneau, produced by Roma Downey & Mark Burnett and starring Cote de Pablo, Rachel Brosnahan & Kathryn Prescott, Diego Boneta and Sam Neill. Bill Brown to Score Season 2 of Syfy’s ‘Dominion’
Bill Brown has been tapped to score the second season of the Syfy original series Dominion. The show is created by Vaun Vilmott and stars Christopher Egan, Tom Wisdom, Roxanne McKee, Alan Dale, Anthony Stewart Head and Luke Allen-Gale. The supernatural action drama based on characters from the 2010 feature Legion directed by Scott Stewart and starring Paul Bettany is set in the year 25 A.E. and takes place during a catastrophic war between an army of angels and mankind that has transformed the world.
Mac Quayle to Score Fox’s ‘Scream Queens’
Mac Quayle has been hired to score the upcoming Fox series Scream Queens. The show is created by Ryan Murphy, Ian Brennan & Brad Falchuk (Glee) and stars Emma Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis, Lea Michele, Oliver Hudson, Keke Palmer, Abigail Breslin, Billie Lourd, Skyler Samuels, Lucien Laviscount, Diego Boneta, Glen Powell and Nasim Pedrad. The horror comedy anthology series’ first season will revolve around a college campus which is rocked by a series of murders. Murphy, Falchuk and Brennan are also executive producing the 20th Century Fox Television production with Dante Di Loreto (Glee, The Normal Heart, Temple Grandin).
Rachel Portman Scoring HBO’s ‘Bessie’
Rachel Portman has been tapped to score the upcoming HBO original movie Bessie. The film is directed by Dee Rees (Pariah) and stars Queen Latifah, Michael Kenneth Williams, Khandi Alexander, Mike Epps, Tika Sumpter, Tory Kittles, Oliver Platt, Bryan Greenberg, Charles S. Dutton and Mo’Nique. The movie tells the story of legendary blues singer Bessie Smith and her transformation from a struggling young singer into “The Empress of the Blues,” one of the most successful recording artists of the 1920s and an enduring icon today. Rees has also written the screenplay with Christopher Cleveland & Bettina Gilois (McFarland, USA, Glory Road) based on a story by herself and Horton Foote (To Kill a Mockingbird, Of Mice and Men).

Paul Leonard-Morgan to Score ‘Limitless’ TV Series
Paul Leonard-Morgan is set to score the CBS pilot Limitless. The show is based on the 2011 hit feature, which the composer also scored, and is adapted for television by Craig Sweeny (Elementary, Medium). The drama starring Jake McDorman, Jennifer Carpenter & Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio follows Brian Sinclair as he discovers the power of the mysterious drug NZT and is coerced into using his newfound drug-enhanced abilities to solve weekly cases for the FBI. Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man, (500) Days of Summer) is directing the pilot episode. Bradley Cooper who starred in the feature film is producing the CBS TV Studios, K/O Paper Products and Relativity Media production with Webb, Sweeny, Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci (Transformers, Star Trek, Sleepy Hollow), Heather Kadin (Scorpion), Todd Phillips (The Hangover, Old School), Ryan Kavanaugh & Tucker Tooley (The Fighter, Immortals) and Tom Forman.

Mac Quayle is scoring the upcoming USA original series Mr. Robot. The show is created by Sam Esmail (Comet) and stars Rami Malek, Christian Slater, Portia Doubleday, Martin Wallstrom and Carly Chaikin. The thriller follows a young programmer, who works as a cyber-security engineer by day and as a vigilante hacker by night and finds himself at a crossroads when the mysterious leader of an underground hacker group recruits him to destroy the firm he is paid to protect. Esmail is also producing the Universal Cable production with Steve Golin (True Detective, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Babel) and Chad Hamilton (Comet).
