Beetrootmusic has released a soundtrack album for the BBC mini-series Undercover. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Vince Pope (No Offence, The Bad Education Movie, Misfits). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Undercover is created by Peter Moffat (Silk, Criminal Justice) and stars Sophie Okonedo, Adrian Lester and Dennis Haysbert. The 6-part political thriller follows a woman who is about to become the first black woman to hold the highest ranking public prosecutor role in England.

Premiering tonight is the Irish mini-series Rebellion directed by Aku Louhimies and starring Charlie Murphy, Ruth Bradley, Sarah Greene, Brian Gleeson, Michelle Fairley, Ian McElhinney, Michael Ford-Fitzgerald, Paul Reid, Barry Ward and Tom Turner. The 5-parter’s original music is composed by Stephen Rennicks (Room, Frank, Viva). Rebellion tells the story of the birth of modern Ireland through the eyes of three young women. Netflix’s ‘Marseille’ to Feature Music by Alexandre Desplat
Alexandre Desplat has composed the music for the upcoming Netflix original series Marseille. The show is created by Dan Franck and stars Gérard Depardieu, Benoît Magimel, Géraldine Pailhas, Nadia Farès, Gérard Meylan, Nassim Si Ahmed, Antoine Coesens, Nozha Khouadra and Maruschka Detmers. The 8-parter centers around the city election between the long-time mayor Robert Taro and a younger ambitious candidate. Franck is also executive producing the political drama with Florent-Emilio Siri (My Way) who also directed the first four episodes.
Ludwig Goransson & Nathan Matthew David Scoring TBS’ ‘Angie Tribeca’ Season 2
Ludwig Goransson and Nathan Matthew David are the new composers of the TBS original series Angie Tribeca. The composers are scoring the second season of the show created by Steve & Nancy Carell and starring Rashida Jones, Hayes MacArthur, Jere Burns, Deon Cole and Andree Vermeulen. The comedy follows a 10-year veteran of the Los Angeles Police Department’s elite RHCU (Really Heinous Crimes Unit) and a squad of committed LAPD detectives investigators as they solve various crimes. Steve and Nancy Carell are also executive producing the project with Thom Hinkle and Campbell Smith.
Nick Urata to Score Netflix’s ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’
Nick Urata is set to compose the music for the upcoming Netflix original series A Series of Unfortunate Events. The show is based on the book series by Lemony Snicket and stars Neil Patrick Harris, Malina Weissman, Louis Hynes, Aasif Mandvi, K. Todd Freeman and Patrick Warbutton as Snicket himself. The 8-parter tells the tale of three orphaned children at the hands of the villainous Count Olaf, as they face trials and tribulations, misfortunes and an evil uncle in search of their fortune, all in their quest to uncover the secret of their parents’ deaths. Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black, Get Shorty, The Addams Family) is executive producing the Paramount Television production with Mark Hudis (True Blood) and Daniel Handler.
Martin Phipps to Score ITV’s ‘Victoria’
Martin Phipps is currently scoring the upcoming ITV drama Victoria. The show is created by novelist Daisy Goodwin and stars Jenna Coleman, Rufus Sewell, Alex Jennings, Paul Rhys, Tom Hughes and Peter Firth. The 8-part series follows the early life of Queen Victoria, from her accession to the throne at the age of 18 through to her courtship and marriage to Prince Albert. Goodwin is also producing the Mammoth Screen production with Dan McCulloch (Endeavour, Indian Summers) and Damien Timmer (Parade’s End, Poldark).

Premiering on Tuesday, April 19, is the mini-series The Night Manager directed by Susanne Bier and starring Hugh Laurie, Tom Hiddleston, Olivia Colman, Tom Hollander, Elizabeth Debicki, David Harewood, Neil Morrissey, Katherine Kelly and Tobias Menzies. The 6-parter’s original music is composed by Victor Reyes (Buried, Grand Piano, Red Lights). Silva Screen Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music from the show. Also premiering on Tuesday is the new CW drama Containment created by Julie Plec based on the Belgian TV series Cordon and starring David Gyasi, Christina Moses, Chris Wood, Hanna Mangan-Lawrence, Kristen Gutoskie, George Young, Claudia Black and Trevor St. John. Michael Suby (The Vampire Diaries, The Butterfly Effect, The Originals, Pretty Little Liars) is composing the show’s original music. Adrian Younge & Ali Shaheed Muhammad to Score Netflix’s & Marvel’s ‘Luke Cage’
Writer/producer Cheo Hodari Coker revealed in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly that Adrian Younge & Ali Shaheed Muhammad are scoring the upcoming Netflix original series Luke Cage. The show is based on the Marvel Comics character and stars Mike Colter in the title role, alongside Mahershala Ali, Alfre Woodard, Simone Missick, Theo Rossi, Frank Whaley and Sônia Braga. The drama follows Cage as he becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City after a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin. Colter who serves as a showrunner on the Marvel Entertainment production is executive producing the project with Jeph Loeb (Daredevil, Jessica Jones).
‘Vinyl’ – Best of Season 1 Soundtrack Announced
Atlantic Records will release a new soundtrack album for the HBO original series Vinyl. The album features musical highlights from the show’s first season, including songs by Elvis Costello, Charlie Wilson, Charli XCX, Iggy Pop, Trey Songz, Chris Cornell, The Arcs, Ty Taylor & more. The Essentials: Best of Season 1 soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, April 15 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label has previously released a soundtrack featuring more songs from the drama. Vinyl is created by Terence Winter and stars Bobby Cannavale, Olivia Wilde, Ray Romano, Juno Temple, Ato Essandoh, P. J. Byrne, J. C. MacKenzie, Birgitte Hjort Sørensen and Paul Ben-Victor. The drama executive produced by Martin Scorsese is set in 1970s New York and tells the story of a record executive trying to resurrect his label and find the next new sound.

WaterTower Music will release the first official soundtrack album for the CW series The 100. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s third season composed by Tree Adams (Californication, Perception). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, April 15 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. The 100 based on the book by Kass Morgan stars Eliza Taylor, Paige Turco, Thomas McDonell, Eli Goree, Bob Morley, Marie Avgeropoulos, Kelly Hu, Christopher Larkin, Devon Bostick, Isaiah Washington, Henry Ian Cusick and Lindsey Morgan. The drama follows a group of teens who become the first humans to return to Earth after a devastating nuclear apocalypse.
