Accidental Editions has released a soundtrack album for the BBC drama The Responder. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Matthew Herbert (Disobedience, A Fantastic Woman, Gloria Bell, The Beast Must Die, The Cave, Temple, Port Authority). Weekly TV Music Roundup (March 13, 2022)
Premiering on Tuesday, March 15, is the HBO documentary Phoenix Rising directed by Amy Berg about actress Evan Rachel Wood’s recent efforts as an activist pushing for an extension of the statute of limitations for domestic violence cases and the coalition she builds at The Phoenix Act. The film’s original music is composed by Aska Matsumiya (Bruised, Betty, I’m Your Woman, Skate Kitchen, Selah and the Spades). Check out our previous news article to learn more about the documentary, which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival will debut in two parts on HBO and will also be available to stream on HBO Max.
Premiering on Thursday, March 17, is the Netflix original film Rescued by Ruby directed by Katt Shea and starring Grant Gustin, Scott Wolf, Kaylah Zander, Camille Sullivan, Tom McBeath, Sharon Taylor and Eileen Pedde. Joy Ngiaw (Blush, June & Kopi, Short Circuit: Jing Hua) has composed the movie’s original music. Original Song ‘By My Side’ and ‘You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)’ Cover from ‘DC’s Legends of Tomorrow’ Released
WaterTower Music has released two songs from the soundtrack of the seventh season of the CW drama DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Available to stream/download now on all major digital music services is the original song By My Side written and produced by the show’s co-composer Daniel James Chan (Supergirl, Emergence), featuring lyrics by Leah Poulliot and performed by Shayan Sobhian, as well as the cover version of Dead or Alive’s You Spin Me Round (Like a Record) performed by Jonathan Walton and produced by Eldad Guetta. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by David Buckley (The Good Wife, Papillon, Nobody, Angel Has Fallen, The Forbidden Kingdom, The Stranger, Unhinged, Greenland) & Luke Richards. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, March 11 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Stay Close is created by Harlan Coben based on the bestselling novel by himself and stars Cush Jumbo, James Nesbitt, Richard Armitage, Sarah Parish, Eddie Izzard, Daniel Francis, Youssef Kerkour, Jo Joyner and Bethany Antonia. The 8-part thriller follows three key characters whose dark secrets resurface, setting off a chain of events that threatens to destroy their lives.

The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey is created by by Walter Mosley based on his own bestselling novel and stars Samuel L. Jackson, Dominique Fishback, Damon Gupton, Cynthia Kaye McWilliams, Marsha Stephanie Blake, Walton Goggins and Omar Miller. The 6-part drama tells the story of an ailing man on the brink of sinking even deeper into a lonely dementia who is assigned to the care of an orphaned teenager.

VRT MZK has released a soundtrack album for the Flemish TV series Two Summers (Twee Zomers). The album features the show’s original score composed by Dominique Pauwels (All of Us). James Newton Howard to Score Netflix’s ‘All the Light We Cannot See’
James Newton Howard (The Hunger Games, King Kong, Maleficent, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The Sixth Sense, Signs) is set to score the upcoming Netflix limited series All the Light We Cannot See. The show is written by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders, Locke, Eastern Promises), directed by Shawn Levy (Free Guy, Night at the Museum, Real Steel) and stars Louis Hoffmann, Aria Mia Loberti, Mark Ruffalo, Hugh Laurie, Lars Eidinger and Nell Sutton. The 4-part drama is based on Anthony Doerr’s Pulitzer Prize-winning bestseller and tells the story of Marie-Laure, a teenager who is blind, and Werner, a German soldier, whose paths collide in occupied France as both try to survive the devastation of World War II.
Marvel’s Disney+ Series ‘Moon Knight’ to Feature Music by Hesham Nazih
Hesham Nazih has composed original music for Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ original series Moon Knight. The show marks the first major English language project of the composer who is best known for scoring numerous Egyptian features and TV shows, including The Blue Elephant, Ibrahim Labyad, Tito and Born a King. It has not been confirmed yet whether Nazih is composing the score for all six episodes, but his contribution is believed to be a major part of the show’s music. The 6-part drama is directed by Mohamed Diab (Amira, Clash, Cairo 678) and Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead (The Endless, Synchronic) and stars Oscar Isaac, Ethan Hawke and May Calamawy.
