WaterTower Music will release a soundtrack album for the HBO Max limited series DMZ. The album features selections of the original score from the show composed by Emmy and Grammy Award nominee Kris Bowers (King Richard, Green Book, Bridgerton, Space Jam: A New Legacy, Mrs. America, Dear White People, When They See Us, Inventing Anna). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, March 18. Visit Amazon or any other major digital music services to stream/download the album. DMZ is developed by Roberto Patino based on DC’s graphic novel series of the same title and stars Rosario Dawson, Benjamin Bratt, Freddy Miyares, Hoon Lee and Jordan Preston Carter. The 4-part drama executive produced by Ava DuVernay is set in the near future when America is embroiled in a bitter civil war and chronicles as the journey of one woman as she navigates a demilitarized zone in a harrowing quest to find her lost son. Premiering on Tuesday, March 15, is the HBO documentary Phoenix Rising directed by Amy Berg about actress Evan Rachel Wood’s recent efforts as an activist pushing for an extension of the statute of limitations for domestic violence cases and the coalition she builds at The Phoenix Act. The film’s original music is composed by Aska Matsumiya (Bruised, Betty, I’m Your Woman, Skate Kitchen, Selah and the Spades). Premiering on Thursday, March 17, is the Netflix original film Rescued by Ruby directed by Katt Shea and starring Grant Gustin, Scott Wolf, Kaylah Zander, Camille Sullivan, Tom McBeath, Sharon Taylor and Eileen Pedde. Joy Ngiaw (Blush, June & Kopi, Short Circuit: Jing Hua) has composed the movie’s original music. Kris Bowers (Green Book, King Richard, Space Jam: A New Legacy, Dear White People, Mrs. America, Inventing Anna, Respect) has been tapped to score the upcoming HBO Max limited series DMZ. The show is developed by Roberto Patino (Westworld) based on the comic series of the same title published by DC and stars Rosario Dawson, Benjamin Bratt, Hoon Lee, Freddy Miyares and Jordan Preston Carter. The drama is set in the near future when America is embroiled in a bitter civil war and chronicles the journey of a fearless and fierce medic who sets out to find the son she lost in the evacuation of New York City at the onset of the conflict.
