Back Lot Music has released the theme song for the Netflix animated series She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. The track, entitled, Warriors, is written by Kari Kimmel and performed by Aaliyah Rose and is now available to download as a digital single on Amazon. She-Ra and the Princesses of Power is developed by Noelle Stevenson based on the classic 1980s show and features the voices of Aimee Carrero, Karen Fukuhara, AJ Michalka, Marcus Scribner, Reshma Shetty and Lorraine Toussaint. The show revolves around soldier Adora as she finds a magic sword – and her identity as legendary hero She-Ra.

Mateo Messina to Score Nzingha Stewart’s Netflix Movie ‘Tall Girl’
Mateo Messina (Juno, Blockers, Butter, Barely Lethal) has signed on to score the upcoming Netflix original movie Tall Girl. The film is directed by Nzingha Stewart and stars Ava Michelle, Griffin Gluck, Luke Eisner, Sabrina Carpenter, Paris Berelc, Anjelika Washington, Steve Zahn, Angela Kinsey, Clara Wilsey and Rico Paris. The comedy centers on a six-foot-tall girl as she tries to make her way through high school feeling like an outcast. Sam Wolfson wrote the screenplay. McG (Charlie’s Angels, Terminator Salvation), Mary Viola (The Duff, I Feel Pretty, Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments) & Corey Marsh are producing the project for Wonderland.
Soundtrack Album for Netflix’s ‘Grass Is Greener’ Released
Louder Than Life Records has released a soundtrack album for the Netflix original documentary Grass Is Greener. The album features music inspired by the film by the movie’s composer Salaam Remi (Sparkle, Tyson). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Grass Is Greener is directed and narrated by Fab 5 and centers on the racially biased history of the war on marijuana. The movie features Snoop Dogg, Cypress Hill’s B-Real, Damian Marley,DMC, Doug E. Fresh, Chuck D & others as they discuss the plant’s influence on music and popular culture, and the devastating impact its criminalization has had on black and Latino communities.
Netflix’s ‘Tuca & Bertie’ to Feature Music by Jesse Novak
Jesse Novak is the composer of the new Netflix original series Tuca & Bertie. The animated comedy is created by Lisa Hanawalt and features the voices of Tiffany Haddish and Ali Wong. The show is centers on the friendship between two 30-year-old bird women who live in the same apartment building:a cocky, care-free toucan, and an anxious, daydreaming songbird. Hanawalt, Haddish & Wong are also executive producing the project with Raphael Bob-Waksberg, Noel Bright and Steven A. Cohen.
Germaine Franco Scoring Netflix’s ‘Someone Great’
Germaine Franco (Dope, Tag) has composed the original score for the new Netflix original movie Someone Great. The film is written and directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Sweet/Vicious) and stars Gina Rodriguez, Brittany Snow, Lakeith Stanfield, DeWanda Wise and Rosario Dawson. The romantic comedy follows a woman who experiences a devastating break-up and seeks adventure in NYC with her two best friends before moving across the country for her dream job.

Chris Alan Lee Scoring BET’s ‘The First Wives Club’ Series & Netflix’s ‘No Good Nick’
Chris Alan Lee has been tapped to score the upcoming BET original series The First Wives Club. The show is developed by Tracy Oliver (Girls Trip, The Sun Is Also a Star) based on the 1996 feature of the same title and stars Ryan Michelle Bathe, Jill Scott and Michelle Buteau. The comedy revolves around three women who band together after their marriages fall apart and find strength in their sisterhood — and of course a little revenge. Oliver is also executive producing the project with Karen Rosenfelt (The Twilight Saga, Marley & Me) and Scott Rudin (No Country for Old Men, The Social Network).

The supernatural drama follows a teenager – haunted by eerie visions and sinister impulses after a heart transplant – as she tries to unmask the truth behind her donor’s mysterious death.
