La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1996 comedy The First Wives Club directed by Hugh Wilson and starring Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn, Diane Keaton, Maggie Smith, Dan Hedaya, Bronson Pinchot and Marcia Gay Harden. The album features the expanded and remastered original Academy Award-nominated original score from the Paramount Pictures release composed by Marc Shaiman (Hairspray, A Few Good Men, Mary Poppins Returns, Sister Act, City Slickers, Misery, The Addams Family), including previously unreleased music. The CD, which is limited to 1,000 copies, is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out audio samples.

Chris Alan Lee Scoring BET’s ‘The First Wives Club’ Series & Netflix’s ‘No Good Nick’
Chris Alan Lee has been tapped to score the upcoming BET original series The First Wives Club. The show is developed by Tracy Oliver (Girls Trip, The Sun Is Also a Star) based on the 1996 feature of the same title and stars Ryan Michelle Bathe, Jill Scott and Michelle Buteau. The comedy revolves around three women who band together after their marriages fall apart and find strength in their sisterhood — and of course a little revenge. Oliver is also executive producing the project with Karen Rosenfelt (The Twilight Saga, Marley & Me) and Scott Rudin (No Country for Old Men, The Social Network).
