Michael Price has been tapped to score the upcoming British indie comedy Just Jim. The film is written and directed by Craig Roberts who makes his directorial debut with the project. The actor also stars in the movie alongside Emile Hirsch, Aneirin Hughes, Nia Roberts, Richard Harrington, Matthew Aubrey, Ryan Owen and Charlotte Randall. The drama follows a teenage loser who life is turned around by the appearance of an enigmatic, handsome neighbor. Adrian Bate and Pip Broughton are producing the project.

‘Another Me’ Soundtrack Released
The Control Room has released a soundtrack album for the psychological thriller Another Me. The album features the film’s original music written by Emmy Award-winning composer Michael Price (Sherlock, A Fantastic Fear of Everything, The Inbetweeners 2). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon. Audio clips are embedded after the jump. Another Me is directed by Isabel Coixet and stars Sophie Turner, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Claire Forlani and Rhys Ifans. The movie follows a teenage girl whose once seemingly perfect life slowly begins to unravel when she suspects that she’s being stalked by a mysterious “double” who is out to steal not just her identity, but her life. The thriller premiered at last year’s Rome Film Festival and was released in select U.S. theaters last month.
Alan Silvestri, David Arnold & Michael Price Win Emmy Awards
The Creative Arts Emmy Awards were handed out this afternoon at the NOKIA Theatre LA LIVE in Downtown Los Angeles. Alan Silvestri won his first two Emmy Awards for both his score and his main titles theme music from Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey. David Arnold and Michael Price were honored with their first Emmy for their work on the Sherlock episode His Last Vow after being nominated twice before for their work on the series in previous years. In the Outstanding Music & Lyrics category, Tom Kitt and Lin-Manuel Miranda received an Emmy for the song Bigger!, which was written for the 67 Tony Awards ceremony. Don Was was honored in the Outstanding Music Direction category for his work on The Beatles: The Night That Changed America.
John Ottman, Michael Price, Peter Golub & Bruce Broughton to Attend Transatlantyk Festival Poznań
Composers John Ottman (The Usual Suspects, X-Men: Days of Future Past), Michael Price (Sherlock, Horrid Henry: The Movie), Peter Golub (Frozen Rivers, The Great Debaters) and Bruce Broughton (Silverado, Young Sherlock Holmes, Tombstone) will be attending the 4th Annual Transatlantyk Festival Poznań. The international film and music festival will begin on August 8, 2014 in Poznan, Poland and will showcase film and music from all around the world, presenting both legendary and new artists’ work. The participating composers will sit on the jury of the international composition competition held at the Festival, and Broughton will lead master classes and meetings with the authors moderated by film music journalist Tim Burden.
‘Delicious’ Soundtrack Announced
The Control Room will release a soundtrack album for the romantic comedy Delicious. The album features the film’s original music composed by Emmy Award nominee Michael Price (Sherlock, Horrid Henry: The Movie) who also serves as a producer on the movie. The score was recorded with the Budapest Cafe Orchestra. Also included are songs by Cicero Buck, Selah Corbin and Polly Paulusma. The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 27, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips are embedded after the jump. Delicious is written and directed by Tammy Riley-Smith and stars Nico Rogner, Louise Brealey, Adrian Scarborough, Sheila Hancock and Nicholas Rowe. The movie tells the story of a chef who falls in love with an obsessive dieter.
David Arnold & Michael Price to Score ‘The Inbetweeners 2’
David Arnold and Michael Price have been hired to score the upcoming British comedy sequel The Inbetweeners 2. The film is written and directed by Iain Morris & Damon Beesley and stars Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley and Blake Harrison. The movie follows the four friends Jay, Neil, Simon and Will as they visit Australia. Spencer Millman (The Mighty Boosh) is producing the Bwark, Zodiak Media and Film4 production. Arnold and Price have previously provided additional music for the first movie based on the hit TV series of the same title, which was released in 2011 and turned into the highest grossing British comedy of all time at the local box office.
‘Sherlock’ – Season 3 Soundtrack Announced
Silva Screen Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the BBC hit series Sherlock. The album features selections from score of the show’s third season composed by David Arnold (Independence Day, Casino Royale) and Michael Price. The soundtrack will be released in the UK on January 27, 2014 and on March 4 in the US. Visit Amazon to pre-order the CD and check out audio clips after the jump. The label has previously released soundtrack albums for the first two seasons. Sherlockcreated by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss is a contemporary update of the classic detective stories and stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Holmes and Martin Freeman as Doctor John Watson. The third season of the series will premiere in the UK on January 1 on BBC and in the U.S. on January 19, 2014 on PBS.
‘Cheerful Weather for the Wedding’ Soundtrack Announced
MovieScore Media will release a soundtrack album for last year’s romantic comedy Cheerful Weather for the Wedding. The album features the film’s original music composed by Michael Price (Sherlock, Horrid Henry: The Movie). The soundtrack will be released on March 26, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips after the jump. Cheerful Weather for the Wedding is directed by Donald Rice and stars Elizabeth McGovern, Felicity Jones, Luke Treadaway, Mackenzie Crook, Zoe Tapper and Ellie Kendrick. The movie premiered at last year’s Tribeca Film Festival and was released in select theaters last December by IFC Films. The comedy will also be released on Blu-ray and DVD on March 26.

Opening in almost 3000 theaters is the romantic comedy Playing for Keeps directed by Gabriele Muccino and starring Gerard Butler, Jessica Biel, Judy Greer, Dennis Quaid, Uma Thurman and Catherine Zeta-Jones. The film’s music is written by Italian composer Andrea Guerra (Letters to Juliet, Hotel Rwanda) who has previously collaborated with director on The Pursuit of Happiness. Opening in limited release is the period comedy drama Hyde Park on Hudson directed by Roger Michell and starring Bill Murray, Laura Linney, Olivia Colman, Samuel West, Elizabeth Marvel, Elizabeth Wilson, Eleanor Bron and Olivia Williams. Jeremy Sams (The Mother, Enduring Love) has composed the film’s original score. Relativity Music Group will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score next Tuesday. Opening in most theaters is the thriller The Words written and directed by Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal and stars Bradley Cooper, Olivia Wilde, Zoe Saldana, Jeremy Irons, Dennis Quaid, Ben Barnes, John Hannah, J.K. Simmons and Nora Arnezeder. The film’s music is composed by Marcelo Zarvos (The Good Shepherd, The Door in the Floor).
