A24 Music will release the official soundtrack album for Dicks: The Musical. The album features the original score from the musical comedy written by the film’s composers Marius de Vries (Moulin Rouge!, Coda) & Karl Saint Lucy and the original songs created by the composers and the movie’s writers/stars Aaron Jackson and Josh Sharp (who co-wrote the music for the original stage play F***ing Identical Twins, on which the film is based). The soundtrack will be released digitally on October 6 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A first song (All Love Is Love performed by cast members Megan Mullally, Nathan Lane, Josh Sharp, Aaron Jackson & Bowen Yang) is already available to stream/download now and can also checked out after the jump.

Music producer Marius de Vries (Coda, Kick-Ass, Strange Magic, Navalny, Sucker Punch), Grammy Award-winning songwriters Abigail Barlow & Emily Bear (The Unofficial Bridgerton Musical) and Emmy Award-nominated songwriter Mark Sonnenblick (Theater Camp) have joined the music team of the upcoming biographical drama Fred & Ginger. The film is directed by Jonathan Entwistle (The End of the F*cking World, I Am Not Okay with This) and will star Jamie Bell as Fred Astaire and Margaret Qualley as Ginger Rogers. The movie centers on a life-defining point in the Hollywood icons’ early careers when their contrasting dance styles and competitive rivalry threatened to destroy their legendary partnership.
Marius de Vries to Serve as Executive Music Producer on Farren Blackburn’s ‘Mary’s Monster’
Marius de Vries (Coda, Strange Magic, Kick-Ass, Navalny, Sucker Punch) will serve as the executive music producer of the upcoming period drama Mary’s Monster. He will also be executive producing the film directed by Farren Blackburn (Shut In, Hammer of the Gods) and starring Clara Rugaard as Frankenstein author Mary Shelley and Kit Harington as the titular monster, as well as Ferdia Walsh-Peelo and Sebastian de Souza. The movie centers on Sheeley’s mental struggle to write her seminal novel.
‘Navalny’ Soundtrack Album Released
WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album for the documentary Navalny. The album features the film’s original music composed by Marius de Vries (CODA, Strange Magic, Kick-Ass, Sucker Punch), Matt Robertson (The New Corporation: The Unfortunately Necessary Sequel, The Forest) & Anna Drubich (Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, Fear Street Part 3: 1966, Werewolves Within). Navalny is directed by Daniel Roher and explores the attempted assassination of enigmatic Russian anti-corruption campaigner and former presidential candidate, Alexey Navalny.
Marius de Vries to Serve as Executive Music Producer of Larry Charles’ ‘F*cking Identical Twins’
A24 announced today that Marius de Vries will serve as the executive music producer of the upcoming movie musical F*cking Identical Twins. The film based on comedians Aaron Jackson’s and Josh Sharp’s two-man stage show is directed by Larry Charles (Borat, The Dictator, Curb Your Enthusiasm) and will star Jackson & Sharp themselves, alongside Nathan Lane, Megan Mullally, Bowen Yang and Megan Thee Stallion. Fiora Cutler serves as the music supervisor of the comedy, which features original songs by Jackson & Sharp and composer Karl Saint Lucy, and follows two business adversaries who realize they’re identical twin brothers andd decide to switch places in order to reunite their divorced parents.

Three new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the adventure comedy Free Guy directed by Shawn Levy and starring Ryan Reynolds, Jodie Comer, Lil Rel Howery, Joe Keery, Utkarsh Ambudkar and Taika Waititi. The film’s original score is composed by Christophe Beck (Frozen, Ant-Man,WandaVision, The Hangover, The Peanuts Movie, Edge of Tomorrow, Buffy the Vampire Slayer). Hollywood Records has released two soundtrack albums featuring the songs from the movie and the composer’s score earlier this week. Also opening wide is the biographical drama Respect directed by Liesl Tommy and starring Jennifer Hudson, Forest Whitaker, Marlon Wayans, Marc Maron, Tituss Burgess, Audra McDonald, Hailey Kilgore, Saycon Sengbloh, Skye Dakota Turner and Mary J. Blige. Kris Bowers (Green Book, Bridgerton, Space Jam: A New Legacy, Dear White People, Mrs. America) has composed the film’s original score. ‘CODA’ Soundtrack Album Details
Republic Records will release the official soundtrack album for the drama CODA. The album features the film’s original music composed Marius de Vries (Kick-Ass, Sucker Punch, Strange Magic, Teen Spirit, Easy Virtue) and produced by himself and Nicholai Baxter. Also included are tracks by Etta James, The Clash, Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell, as well as the original song Beyond the Shore written by de Vries, Baxter, director Siân Heder & Matt Dahan and performed by lead actress Emilia Jones. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, August 13 and will be available to stream/download here. CODA is written and directed by Heder and stars Jones, Eugenio Derbez, Ferdia Walsh-Peelo, Troy Kotsur Daniel Durant and Marlee Matlin. The movie revolves around the only hearing member of a deaf family as she joins her high school’s choir club and dinds herself drawn to both her duet partner and her latent passion for singing.

Also premiering on Wednesday is the Netflix original film The Kissing Booth 3 directed by Vince Marcello and starring Joey King, Joel Courtney, Jacob Elordi, Molly Ringwald, Taylor Zakhar Perez, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Meganne Young and Stephen Jennings. Patrick Kirst (Inherit the Viper, Breaking Surface, Grace Stirs Up Success, Convergence) who previously scored the first two installments has composed the movie’s original music. The romantic comedy, which follows Elle as she plans the ultimate bucket list to make the most of her final summer before college, will be available to stream exclusively on Netflix.

Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album for the Disney Channel original movie Spin. The album features the film’s original songs written, produced and performed by Grammy Award winner Marius de Vries (Coda, Kick-Ass, Strange Magic, Easy Virtue, Sucker Punch). Fiora Cutler co-wrote several of the tracks. Also included are two cues from de Vries’ original score. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out audio samples. Spin is directed by Manjari Makijany and stars Abhay Deol, Meera Syal, Aryan Simhadri, Michael Bishop, Anna Cathcart, Jahbril Cook and Kerri Medders. The movie revolves around an Indian American teen who discovers her passion for creating DJ mixes that blend the rich textures of her South Asian culture and the world around her.

He has also composed the original score for the film written and directed by Sian Heder (Tallulah, Little America) and starring Emilia Jones, Eugenio Derbez, Troy Kotsur, Ferdia Walsh-Peelo, Daniel Durant and Marlee Matlin. The movie tells the story of the only hearing member of a deaf family as she joins her high school’s choir club and dinds herself drawn to both her duet partner and her latent passion for singing. Nick Baxter serves as the music producer and Alexandra Patsavas is the drama’s music supervisor.
