Interscope Records has announced a soundtrack album for the drama Teen Spirit. The album features the cover songs featured in the film performed by lead actress Elle Fanning, as well as the new song Wildflower written by Carly Rae Jepsen & Jack Antonoff. Also included are tracks by No Doubt,Grimes and Major Lazer feat. MØ & DJ Snake. A first track (Fanning’s cover of Robyn’s Dancing On My Own) is already available as a digital single and can be downloaded here. The full soundtrack will be released digitally and physically on April 5. Visit Amazon to pre-order the CD version. Teen Spirit is written and directed by Max Minghella and stars Fanning, alongside Rebecca Hall, Zlatko Buric and Agnieszka Grochowska.

‘The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part’ Soundtrack Details
The details of the soundtrack album for the animated sequel The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part have been revealed. The album features the songs from the movie including the end credits track Super Cool by Beck (feat. Robyn & The Lonely Island), as well as songs performed by Dillon Francis (feat. T-Pain & That Girl Lay Lay), Superorganism, Matt and Kim, cast members Tiffany Haddish, Will Arnett, Stephanie Beatriz, Superorganism & more. Also included are new versions of the Academy Award-nominated song Everything Is Awesome written for the original 2014 The LEGO Movie. Jon Lajoie is the principal songwriter for most of the original songs and Marius de Vries (La La Land, Moulin Rouge!) serves as the movie’s executive music producer.
Marius de Vries to Serve as Executive Music Producer on Tom Hooper’s ‘Cats’ Film Adaptation
Universal Pictures and Working Title have announced today that Marius de Vries will serve as the executive music producer on the upcoming film adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Tony Award-winning stage musical Cats. The film is directed by Tom Hooper (The King’s Speech, Les Miserables) and stars James Corden, Judi Dench, Jason Derulo, Idris Elba, Jennifer Hudson, Ian McKellen, Taylor Swift, Rebel Wilson and Francesca Hayward. Hooper also co-wrote the screenplay with Lee Hall (Billy Elliot) and is producing the project with Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner (Atonement, Darkest Hour) and Debra Hayward (Les Misérables).
Marius de Vries to Serve as Music Producer on Max Minghella’s ‘Teen Spirit’
It was announced today that Marius de Vries will serve as the music producer on the upcoming drama Teen Spirit. The film marks the directorial debut of actor Max Minghella and is being described as an “underdog story set in the world of pop-music, about growing up, dreaming big, and finding your voice.” Minghella also wrote the screenplay, which he developed with actor Jamie Bell who will be executive producing the movie. Fred Berger (La La Land) and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones (Midnight Special, Insidious series) are producing the Automatik Entertainment production.

Opening nationwide this week is the fantasy adventure The Huntsman: Winter’s War directed by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan and starring Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, Emily Blunt, Nick Frost, Sam Claflin, Rob Brydon and Jessica Chastain. The film’s original music is composed by James Newton Howard (The Hunger Games, King Kong, Maleficent, The Sixth Sense). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as a new version of the song Castle by Halsey arranged by the Howard. Opening in around 400 theaters is the comedy drama A Hologram for the King written and directed by Tom Tykwer and starring Tom Hanks, Alexander Black, Sarita Choudhury, Ben Winshaw, Tom Skerritt, Sidse Babett Knudsen and Jay Abdo. Tykwer (The International, Cloud Atlas, Run Lola Run) has also written the film’s original music with Johnny Klimek (One Hour Photo, Sense8). Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score. Opening in most theaters is the animated feature Strange Magic directed by Gary Rydstrom, produced by George Lucas and featuring the voices of Alan Cumming, Evan Rachel Wood, Kristin Chenoweth, Maya Rudolph, Sam Palladio, Meredith Anne Bull, Alfred Molina, Elijah Kelley, Bob Einstein and Peter Stormare. Marius de Vries (Moulin Rouge, Kick-Ass) serves as the film’s musical director and has also composed the original score. Also opening wide is the thriller The Boy Next Door directed by Rob Cohen, produced by Jason Blum and starring Jennifer Lopez, Ryan Guzman, John Corbett and Kristin Chenoweth. The film’s original music is composed by Randy Edelman who previously scored such films as Dragonheart, xXx and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor for Cohen and Nathan Barr (True Blood, The Americans). ‘Strange Magic’ Soundtrack Announced
Hollywood Records will release a soundtrack album for the animated feature Strange Magic. The album features the songs from the film performed by the movie’s voice cast. Marius de Vries serves as the project’s musical director and has picked numerous popular songs from the past six decades. He also composed the original score for the Lucasfilm production. The soundtrack will be released digitally on January 20, 2015. A physical version is set to be released on February 17, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Marius de Vries has composed the score for Lucasfilm’s upcoming animated musical Strange Magic. The movie is directed by Gary Rydstrom (Toy Story Toons: Hawaiian Vacation, Lifted) and features the voices of Alan Cumming, Evan Rachel Wood, Kristin Chenoweth, Maya Rudolph, Sam Palladio, Meredith Anne Bull, Alfred Molina, Elijah Kelley, Bob Einstein and Peter Stormare. The film tells the story of a group of goblins, elves, fairies and imps, and their misadventures sparked by the battle over a powerful potion. The animated feature is inspired by A Midsummer Night’s Dream and incorportates popular songs from the past six decades.
