Jonathan Goldsmith has been hired to score the upcoming comedy drama Burn Your Maps. The film is written and directed by Jordan Roberts (3, 2, 1…Frankie Go Boom, screenwriter of Big Hero 6) and stars Vera Farmiga, Jacob Tremblay, Virginia Madsen and Suraj Sharma. The movie is based on a short story by Robyn Joy Leff and follows an 8-year-old boy who believes he is actually a Mongolian goat herder born in the wrong place and befriends a similarly displaced Indian immigrant who decides it’s their destiny to connect the child’s dream to his reality through the use of crowdfunding. Courtney Solomon (Cake, Getaway) and Mark Canton (300, The Spiderwick Chronicles, Red Planet) are producing the Cinelou production with Patrick Aiello (As Above, So Below, The Double).

Jonathan Goldsmith to Score ‘Unless’
Jonathan Goldsmith has signed on to score the upcoming indie drama Unless. The film is directed by Alan Gilsenan and stars Catherine Keener, Hannah Gross, Brendan Coyle, Matt Craven, Chloe Rose and Hanna Schygulla. The movie is based on the last book by Canadian novelist Carol Shields and centers on a writer whose oldest daughter who drops out of college and lands on a Toronto street corner panhandling and speechless. Jennifer Kawaja & Julia Sereny (Touch of Pink), Tristan Orpen Lynch (Young Ones, Jimi: All Is By My Side) and Aoife O’Sullivan are producing the project.

Netflix’s ‘Between’ to Feature Music by Jonathan Goldsmith
Jonathan Goldsmith is scoring the upcoming Netflix original series Between. The show is created by Michael McGowan (Still Mine, One Week) and stars Jenette McCurdy, Jesse Carere, Jack Murray, Justin Kelly, Krystal Nausbaum, Brooke Palsson, Jim Watson, Wesley Morgan, Michael Reventar, Kyle Mac, Ryan Allen and Michael Boisvert. The sci-fi thriller takes place in a town is under siege from a mysterious disease that has killed everybody — except for those 21 years old and younger. McGowan is also executive producing the project with Don Carmody (Resident Evil series, Pompeii, Silent Hill), David Cormican and Naveen Prasad.
‘The Returned’ Soundtrack Announced
ScreamWorks Records has released a soundtrack album for the zombie thriller The Returned. The album features the film’s original music composed by Jonathan Goldsmith (Away From Her, Take This Waltz, Casino Jack). The soundtrack is being released digitally this week. Check back on this site for audio clips to be added to this article soon. The Returned is directed by Manuel Carballo and stars Kris Holden-Reid, Emily Hampshire, Shawn Doyle and Claudia Bassols. The movie dollows a young couple hiding a long-held secret in a post-zombie world, where the infected live normal lives but their retroviral drug is running out. The horror thriller opened in select theaters this past February by levelFILM.

Premiering tonight on NBC is the new drama Crisis created by Rand Ravich and starring Gillian Anderson, Dermot Mulroney, Lance Gross and Rachael Taylor. John Paesano (Dragons: Riders of Berk, the upcoming The Maze Runner) is composing the show’s original music. The series follows an unlikely puppeteer who will bring everyone from CEOs to the president of the United States to their knees. Crisis will air every Sunday night on NBC. Jonathan Goldsmith Scoring Lifetime’s ‘The Grim Sleeper’
Jonathan Goldsmith has recently scored the Lifetime original movie The Grim Sleeper. The film is directed by Stanley M. Brooks and stars Dreama Walker, Macy Gray, Ernie Hudson and Michael O’Neill. The movie tells the true story of an LA Weekly reporter who investigates the unsolved murders of dozens of women in Los Angeles by the alleged serial killer known as the “Grim Sleeper”. Robert Nathan (Law & Order) and Teena Booth (The Drew Peterson Story) have written the script. Michael Jaffe (The Informant!, Texas Killing Fields) and Joe Pichirallo are executive producing the project.

Already in theaters since Wednesday is the sci-fi action movie RoboCop directed by José Padilha and starring Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Abbie Cornish, Jennifer Ehle, Jay Baruchel, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Jackie Earle Haley, Michael K. Williams and Samuel L. Jackson. Pedro Bromfman who previously scored Padilha’s Elite Squad movies has composed the film’s original score. Opening in most theaters is Pixar’s animated film sequel Monsters University directed by Dan Scanion and featuring the voice talent of Billy Crystal, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi Jennifer Tilly, Frank Oz, John Ratzenberger and Kelsey Grammer. The film’s music is composed by Randy Newman who previously scored 2001’s Monsters, Inc. Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as track from Axwell & Sebastian Ingrosso of the electronic music trio Swedish House Mafia. Opening in most theaters is the new film adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby directed by Baz Luhrmann and starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Carey Mulligan, Joel Edgerton, Isla Fisher, Elizabeth Debicki and Amitabh Bachchan. Craig Armstrong who previously scored the director’s Moulin Rouge! and Romeo & Juliet has composed the film’s original score. Interscope Records has released the official soundtrack album, which features Jay-Z’s original track No Church in the Wild, as well as his hit song 100$ Bill. Also included are the original songs Over the Love by Florence + the Machine and Young and Beautiful by Lana Del Rey, as well as songs by Beyonce x Andre 3000 (collaborating on Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black), Fergie + Q Tip +
