Drawing Number One has released a score album for the Hulu original documentary Homeroom. The album features the film’s original score composed by Mike Tuccillo (Ramy, Love Life, Shot in the Dark, Out of Omaha). Dan Romer (Luca, Beasts of the Southern Wild, Maniac, Beasts of No Nation) serves as the project’s executive music producer. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. As previously reported, Omnivore Recordings has released a separate soundtrack featuring songs from and inspired by the movie. Homeroom is directed by Pete Nicks and centers on Oakland High School’s class of 2020 confronting an unprecedented year, as anxiety over test scores and college applications gives way to the uncertainty of a rapidly developing pandemic and growing demands for systemic change.

Hannah Parrott Scoring Hulu’s & Peacock’s ‘The Croods: Family Tree’
Hannah Parrott (Head Count, When Jeff Tried to Save the World, Golden Arm, Mountain Men) is scoring DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming TV series The Croods: Family Tree. The show is based on The Croods feature films (scored by Alan Silvestri & Mark Mothersbaugh) and features the voice talent of Kiff Vandenheuvel, Amy Landecker, Ally Dixon, A.J. Locascio, Artemis Pebdani, Darin Brooks playing Guy, Matthew Waterson, Amy Rosoff and Kelly Marie Tran. The series continues the ever-evolving story of the Croods and the Bettermans as they learn to live together on the most idyllic farm in prehistory.

Premiering on Tuesday, August 31 is the Hulu original series Only Murders in the Building created by Steve Martin & John Hoffman and starring Martin, Selena Gomez, Martin Short Aaron Dominguez and Amy Ryan. The show’s original music is composed by Siddhartha Khosla (This Is Us, Looking for Alasksa, Queenpins, Runaways, The Royals). Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score this past Friday. Premiering on Wednesday, September 1 is Pixar Animation Studios’ Disney+ shorts series Dug Days written and directed by Bob Peterson and produced by Kim Collins. Andrea Datzman (Alcatraz, Undercovers) & Curtis Green have composed the original score for all five shorts. Soundtrack Album for Hulu’s ‘Only Murders in the Building’ to Be Released
Hollywood Records will release a soundtrack album for the new Hulu original series Only Murders in the Building. The album features selections of the original score from the show composed by Emmy Award nominee Siddhartha Khosla (This Is Us, Runaways, Looking for Alasksa, Queenpins, Love, Victor). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, August 27 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music stores. Only Murders in the Building is created by Steve Martin & John Hoffman and stars Martin himself, Martin Short, Selena Gomez, Aaron Dominguez and Amy Ryan. The murder mystery comedy executive produced by Dan Fogelman follows three strangers who share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one when a grisly death occurs inside their exclusive Upper West Side apartment building.

The show’s original music is composed by Jeff Cardoni (Silicon Valley, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, CSI: Miami, The Kominsky Method, Step Up All In). Lionsgate Records will release weekly soundtracks featuring Cardoni’s score and other music from the drama. The first soundtrack featuring music from the first episode has just been released today. Premiering in the U.S. on Wednesday, August 18 is the crime drama The Defeated created by Måns Mårlind and starring Taylor Kitsch, Nina Hoss, Logan Marshall-Green, Michael C. Hall, Tuppence Middleton, Mala Emde, Maximilian Ehrenreich, Sebastian Koch and Benjamin Sadler. Chanda Dancy (After We Leave, Pigeon Kings, Dramarama) has composed the show’s original music. Nathaniel Mechaly has previously scored the original version of the series, which premiered overseas under the title Shadowplay. Soundtrack Album for Hulu’s ‘Animaniacs’ Reboot to Be Released
WaterTower Music will release the first soundtrack album for Hulu’s reboot of the animated series Animaniacs. The album features the songs from the show’s first season written by Andrew Barbot, Roddy Hart, Jess Lacher, Clyde Lawrence, Tommy Reilly, Wellesley Wild, Jordan Cohen,among others. Also included is the show’s main title song (performed by Rob Paulsen, Jess Harnell & Tress MacNeille) and the Pinky & The Brain theme song, both of which werere originally written by Richard Stone and series creator Tom Ruegger. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, August 13 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Animaniacs is executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Wild, Sam Register, Justin Falvey & Darryl Frank and follows Warner brothers, Yakko and Wakko, and the Warner sister Dot as they return to the Warner Bros. water tower andd waste no time in causing chaos and comic confusion, turning the world into their personal playground.
Marco Beltrami & Miles Hankins Scoring Hulu’s ‘Nine Perfect Strangers’
Marco Beltrami (Logan, A Quiet Place, Scream, 3:10 to Yuma, Hellboy, The Hurt Locker) and Miles Hankins (Len & Company, Being Serena) have teamed up to score the new Hulu limited series Nine Perfect Strangers. The show is deeveloped by David E. Kelley (Ally McBeal, The Practice, The Undoing) & John Henry Butterworth (Edge of Tomorrow, Ford v Ferrari) based on the New York Times bestselling book by Liane Moriarty (Big Little Lies) and stars Nicole Kidman, Melissa McCarthy, Michael Shannon, Luke Evans, Bobby Cannavale, Samara Weaving, Regina Hall, Asher Keddie, Melvin Gregg, Grace Van Patten, Tiffany Boone and Manny Jacinto. The drama takes place at a boutique health-and-wellness resort that promises healing and transformation as nine stressed city dwellers try to get on a path to a better way of living and have no idea what is about to hit them.
Rolfe Kent Scoring Hulu’s ‘Vacation Friends’
Rolfe Kent (Sideways, About Schmidt, Wedding Crashers, Election, Up in the Air, Mean Girls, Freaky Friday) has recently scored the upcoming comedy Vacation Friends. The film is directed by Clay Tarver (Silicon Valley, Joy Ride) and stars John Cena, Lil Rel Howery, Yvonne Orji, Meredith Hagner, Robert Wisdom, Andrew Bachelor and Lynn Whitfield. The movie follows a straight-laced couple that has fun with a rowdy couple on vacation in Mexico and later discover that the crazy couple they met in Mexico followed them back home to the United States. Tarver also co-wrote the screenplay with Tom Mullen & Tim Mullen and Jonathan Goldstein & John Francis Daley (Game Night, Horrible Bosses).
