Nathan Larson is set to compose the score for the upcoming HBO series Vinyl. The show is created by Terence Winter (Boardwalk Empire, The Wolf of Wall Street, The Sopranos) and stars Bobby Cannavale, Olivia Wilde, Ray Romano, Juno Temple, Ato Essandoh, P. J. Byrne, J. C. MacKenzie, Birgitte Hjort Sørensen and Paul Ben-Victor. The drama is set in 1970s New York and tells the story of Richie Finestra, a record executive trying to resurrect his label and find the next new sound. Martin Scorsese (Good Fellas, Taxi Driver, The Departed) has directed the pilot episode and is also executive producing the project with Winter, Mick Jagger, George Mastras (Breaking Bad), Rick Yorn (We Bought a Zoo), Victoria Pearman (Get on Up) and Emma Tillinger Koskoff (The Wolf of Wall Street).

‘True Detective’ Soundtrack Details
The full details of the soundtrack album for the HBO original series True Detective have been revealed. The album features the songs from the show, including the main titles song of the first season, Far From Any Road by The Handsome Family and the opening titles track from the second season, Nevermind by Leonard Cohen. Other artists featured on the soundtrack include Lera Lynn, Nick Cave & Warren Ellis, Bob Dylan, John Paul White, Cassandra Wilson & more. T Bone Burnett serves as the album’s producer. The soundtrack will be released this Friday, August 14 by Harvest Records/Electromagnetic Recordings and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Several of the tracks on the album have already been released as singles over the last couple of weeks.

Nathan Larson has composed the music for the HBO mini-series Show Me a Hero. The 6-parter is created by David Simon (The Wire, Treme) and stars Oscar Isaac, Catherine Keener, Alfred Molina, Winona Ryder, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, Bob Balaban, Jim Belushi and Jon Bernthal. Paul Haggis (Crash, The Next Three Days) has directed all episodes. The series based on the 1999 book of the same title by New York Times writer Lisa Belki is set in the 1960s and follows a young mayor of a mid-sized city who is faced with a federal court order to build a small number of low-income housing units in the white neighborhoods of his town.

Premiering tonight is the HBO original series The Brink created by Kim & Roberto Benabib and starring Jack Black, Tim Robbins, Pablo Schreiber, Aasif Mandvi, Maribeth Monroe, Eric Ladin, Esai Morales and Geoff Pierson. David Robbins (Dead Man Walking, Welcome to Me, Bob Roberts) has composed the show’s original music. The show doesn’t feature an original score. Scott Vener (Entourage) serves as the project’s music supervisor. Ballers follows a former football superstar who gets his life on track in retirement, while mentoring other current and former players on the business of football. ‘Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways’ Score Album Announced
Memory Bulldozer Records will release a sore album for the HBO original docu-series Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways. The album features selections from the show’s original score composed by Bryan Lee Brown. The soundtrack will be released digitally on June 16, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on iTunes, where you can also check out audio clips. Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways is directed by Foo Fighters front man Dave Grohl and documents the eight-city recording odyssey that produced their latest, and eighth, studio album.
‘Game of Thrones ‘ Season 5 Soundtrack Details
The details of the fifth soundtrack album for HBO’s Game of Thrones have been revealed. The album features selections of the original music from the fifth season of the show composed by Ramin Djawadi (Iron Man, Pacific Rim, Person of Interest, Westworld). Premiering tomorrow, May 25, is the History mini-series Texas Rising directed by Roland Joffe and starring Bill Paxton, Brendan Fraser, Ray Liotta, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Olivier Martinez, Thomas Jane, Crispin Glover and Jeremy Davies. The show’s original music is composed by John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, Elf, Iron Man 2) and Bruce Broughton (Silverado, Tombstone). Universal Music Group Nashville has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score, as well as the original song Take Me To Texas written by Shane McAnally and Brandy Clark, as well as a cover version of Tom Petty’s I Won’t Back Down performed by Kris Kristofferson and the original piece Igual Que Yo performed by guitarist José Feliciano earlier this week. Christopher Gunning (La Vie En Rose) has composed the film’s original score and Guillaume Roussel (3 Days to Kill) has contributed additional music. Hamburger Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ music, as well as classical pieces by Erik Satie, Jean Sibelius and more last year.
