Premiering on Wednesday, November 2, is the new IFC original series Stan Against Evil created by Dana Gould and starring John C. McGinley, Janet Varney, Nate Mooney, Deborah Baker Jr. and Mick Ignis. The show’s original music is composed by Eban Schletter (SpongeBob Square Pants, Another Period). The horror comedy follows a former sheriff of a small New England town who teams up with his younger replacement to investigate a series of supernatural occurrences. Premiering on Friday, November 4, is the Netflix original series The Crown created by Peter Morgan and starring Claire Foy, Matt Smith, Vanessa Kirby and John Lithgow. Hans Zimmer (Inception, The Lion King, Gladiator, The Dark Knight) has composed the show’s main theme and Rupert Gregson-Williams (Hacksaw Ridge, The Legend of Tarzan, Hotel Rwanda) has composed the original score. The only movie opening nationwide this weekend is the thriller Inferno directed by Ron Howard and starring Tom Hanks, Felicity Jones, Irrfan Khan, Omar Sy, Ben Foster and Sidse Babett Knudsen. The film’s original music is composed by Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, Gladiator, The Lion King, Inception, Rain Man, Black Hawk Down). Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Check out our soundtrack announcement for the full album details. Opening in limited release is the documentary Gimme Danger directed by Jim Jarmusch about the rock-n-roll band The Stooges. The movie doesn’t feature any original score and no soundtrack album has been released. The film recounts the hard-rocking history of Iggy Pop and The Stooges, who burst out of Michigan in the late ’60s with a savage and endlessly influential fusion of rock, blues, R&B, and free jazz. ‘Planet Earth II’ Soundtrack Details

Silva Screen Records will release a soundtrack album for the BBC Earth documentary series Planet Earth. The album features the show’s main theme composed by Hans Zimmer (Gladiator, The Dark Knight, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Lion King, Inception, Interstellar), as well as the series’ original music written by Jacob Shea (Through the Wormhole, Sparks) and Jasha Klebe (Winter on Fire: Ukraine’s Fight for Freedom) for Bleeding Fingers Music. The soundtrack will be released on November 11, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Planet Earth II is narrated by David Attenborough, executive produced by Michael Gunton (Hidden Kingdoms, Life), produced by Tom Hugh-Jones (Planet Life) and explores the unique characteristics of Earth’s most iconic habitats and the extraordinary ways animals survive within them.

Sony Classical will release a soundtrack album for the Netflix original series The Crown. The album features the show’s main title theme composed by Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, Inception, The Lion King, Rain Man, Pirates of the Caribbean), as well as the drama’s original music composed by Rupert Gregson-Williams (The Legend of Tarzan, Hacksaw Ridge, Over the Hedge, Bee Movie). The soundtrack will be released on November 4, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Crown is created by Peter Morgan (The Queen, Rush) and stars Claire Foy, Matt Smith, Vanessa Kirby and John Lithgow. The series is based on Morgan’s play The Audience and centers on the interplay and political intrigue between Queen Elizabeth II and the British prime ministers spanning several decades.

Hans Zimmer to Score DreamWorks Animation’s ‘The Boss Baby’

Hans Zimmer has signed on to score DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming feature The Boss Baby. The film is directed by Tom McGrath and features the voices of Alec Baldwin, Steve Buscemi, Jimmy Kimmel and Lisa Kudrow. The movie is based on the book by Marla Frazee and follows a suit-wearing briefcase-carrying baby who pairs up with his seven-year old brother to stop the dastardly plot of the CEO of Puppy Co. Michael McCullers (Austin Powers) has written the screenplay. Ramsey Naito is producing the project.

Benjamin Wallfisch to Score ‘Rings’

Benjamin Wallfisch has been tapped to score the upcoming horror thriller Rings. The film is directed by F. Javier Gutierrez (Before the Fall) and stars Matilda Lutz, Alex Roe, Johnny Galecki, Aimee Teegarden, Bonnie Morgan and Vincent D’Onofrio. The movie is the third part in the Ring franchise and follows a young woman who becomes worried about her boyfriend when he explores a dark subculture surrounding a mysterious videotape said to kill the watcher seven days after he has viewed it. David Loucka (Dream House), Jacob Estes (Mean Creek) and Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind, I Am Legend, I, Robot) have written the screenplay.

Hans Zimmer has joined Pharrell Williams to score the upcoming drama Hidden Figures. The film is directed by Theodore Melfi (St. Vincent) and stars Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, Janelle Monáe, Kirsten Dunst, Jim Parsons, Mahershala Ali, Aldis Hodge, Glen Powell and Kevin Costner. The movie tells the true story of a group of brilliant African-American women working at NASA, who served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history: the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit. Melfi has written the screenplay with Allison Schroeder based on the book by Margot Lee Shetterly.

Sony Classical will release the official soundtrack album for the film adaptation of Dan Brown’s best-selling novel Inferno. The album features the film’s original music composed by Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, The Lion King, Gladiator, Inception, Pirates of the Caribbean) who previous scored the first two movies in the series, Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons. The soundtrack, which has a run time of 71 minutes, will be released on October 7, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. BBC Earth has announced that Hans Zimmer is composing the music for the upcoming docu-series Planet Earth II. He is composing the show’s theme and main titles. Jasha Klebe who previously scored last year’s Oscar-nominated documentary Winter on Fire and Jacob Shea who is known for his music for the Morgan Freeman-hosted series Through the Wormhole are also involved in scoring the show courtesy of the music production house Bleeding Fingers Custom Music Shop (Saints & Strangers, Sons of Liberty). The series is narrated by David Attenborough, executive produced by Michael Gunton (Hidden Kingdoms, Life, Africa) and produced by Tom Hugh-Jones (Planet Life). The 6-parter explores the unique characteristics of Earth’s most iconic habitats and the extraordinary ways animals survive within them.

Hans Zimmer Scoring Sean Penn’s ‘The Last Face’

Hans Zimmer revealed in a recent interview with Gigwise that he is scoring the upcoming drama The Last Face. The film is directed by Sean Penn and stars Charlize Theron, Javier Bardem, Adèle Exarchopoulos, Jean Reno and Jared Harris. The movie follows the director of an international aid organization working in Liberia who embarks on a love affair with a stubborn and impulsive relief-aid doctor. Erin Dignam (The Yellow Hankerchief) has written the screenplay. Bill Pohlad (12 Years a Slave, Into the Wild, Wild) is producing the project with Matt Palmieri (Martha Marcy May Marlene) and Bill Gerber (Gran Torino).
