Andrew Sherman is the composer of the new Fox animated comedy Bless the Harts. He is composing the original score and also wrote the theme for the show created by Emily Spivey (Up All Night, Wine Country) and starring Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Jillian Bell and Ike Barinholtz. The series follows a Southern family that is always broke, and forever struggling to make ends meet. Spivey is also executive producing the FOX Entertainment and 20th Century Fox Television production with Wiig, Phil Lord & Christopher Miller (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, The LEGO Movie), Seth Cohen (Son of Zorn) and Andy Bobrow (The Last Man on Earth).

First Songs from ‘Empire’ Season 6 Released
Hollywood Records has released the first songs from the sixth season of the Fox hit drama Empire. Available now are the songs featured in the season premiere (What Is Love), including Do It Right performed by Serayah, Yazz, Mario & Katlyn Simone, Heaven performed by Kiandra Richardson, What The DJ Spins (Hakeem version) written and produced by Terrence Howard & performed by Yazz and Too Good performed by Diamond White. The 4-track EP is now available to stream and download on Amazon Music. Over the next couple of months, the label will release two songs each week ahead of every episode.

Nathaniel Blume Scoring Fox’s ‘Prodigal Son’
Nathaniel Blume is scoring the new Fox drama Prodigal Son. The show is created by Chris Fedak (Chuck, Forever) & Sam Sklaver and stars Tom Payne, Michael Sheen, Bellamy Young, Halston Sage, Lou Diamond Phillips, Frank Harts, Keiko Agena and Aurora Perrineau. The series follows a troubled criminal psychologist as he uses his twisted genius to help the NYPD solve crimes. Fedak & Sklaver are also executive producing the Warner Bros. Television and FOX Entertainment production with Greg Berlanti & Sarah Schechter (Riverdale, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina).
Soundtrack Album for ‘The Tick’ Animated Series Released
Wild Circle Records has released the first soundtrack album for the 90s animated series The Tick. The album features selections of the original music from all three seasons of the show composed by Doug Katsaros (Star Crystal, Bucky O’Hare and the Toad Wars!). Spoon!! – The Original Music from the Original Animated “The Tick” is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. The Tick created by Ben Edlund and starring Townsend Coleman, Micky Dolenz, Rob Paulsen, Cam Clarke, Kay Lenz, Jess Harnell centers on the titular invulnerable, somewhat dim, superhero as the protects The City from all manner of evil-doers.

Premiering tonight is the docu-series Serengeti created by Simon Fuller and directed by John Downer who are both also executive producing the project. The show’s original music is composed by Will Gregory (Nowhere Boy, My Summer of Love) and features vocals by Lola Lennox. The series is narrated by Lupita Nyong’o and follow a cast of African wildlife, including lions, zebras, baboons and cheetahs, over the course of a year. The 6-parter premiered last month in the UK on BBC One and is making its U.S. debut on Discovery. Visit the official show website for more information.
Premiering on Wednesday, August 7, is Fox’s revival of BH90210 starring Jason Priestley, Shannen Doherty, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green and Tori Spelling. Brian H. Kim (Hello, My Name Is Doris, Star vs. the Forces of Evil, Search Party) is composing the original music for the show, which features the seven former teen idols playing heightened versions of themselves. ‘The X-Files’ Season 11 Soundtrack Album Announced
La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the Fox mystery drama The X-Files. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s eleventh and final season composed by Emmy Award nominee Mark Snow (Smallville, Millennium, Blue Bloods, Disturbing Behavior). The 2-CD set is limited to 3,000 copies and will be available to order later today on the label’s official website. La-La Land Records has previously several soundtrack albums featuring the composer’s music from the first nine seasons, as well as Season 10. Season 11 of The X-Files created by Chris Carter and starring David Duchovny & Gillian Anderson is now available on Blu-ray and DVD.

Premiering on Friday, February 22 is the Netflix original movie Paddleton co-written and directed by Alex Lehmann and starring Mark Duplass, Ray Romano, Ravi Patel and Christine Woods. The film’s original music is composed by Julian Wass (Hit and Run, The Miseducation of Cameron Post, Room 104, Insatiable, The Overnight). Also premiering on Friday in the U.S. is the Spanish drama The Photographer of Mauthausen (El fotografo de Mauthausen) directed by Mar Targarona and starring Mario Casas, Richard van Weyden and Alain Hernández. Diego Navarro (Capture the Flag, Mimesis) has composed the film’s original music. Rosetta Records has released a soundtrack album last fall when the movie opened overseas. The movie, which follows a Catalán prisoner at a Nazi concentration camp who uses his office job to steal photo negatives of the atrocities committed there, will be available to stream stateside exclusively on Netflix.
Bear McCreary Scoring Fox’s ‘Proven Innocent’
Bear McCreary (10 Cloverfield Lane, The Walking Dead, Happy Death Day, Battlestar Galactica, Outlander) is the composer of the new Fox drama Proven Innocent. The show is created by David Elliot (Four Brothers, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra) and stars Rachelle Lefevre, Russell Hornsby, Vincent Kartheiser, Riley Smith, Kelsey Grammer, Nikki M. James and Clare O’Connor. The series follows an underdog criminal defense firm led by a fierce and uncompromising lawyer who, earlier in her life, wass wrongfully convicted in a sensational murder case that made her an infamous media obsession, a household name and a national cause célèbre.

Premiering tonight is the Fox Live television event Rent executive produced by Marc Platt based on Jonathan Larson’s stage musical of the same title and starring Vanessa Hudgens, Brandon Victor Dixon, Mario, Tinashe, Kiersey Clemons, Jordan Fisher, Brennin Hunt and Valentina. Masterworks Broadway will release a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the TV special.
