Dickon Hinchliffe is scoring the upcoming indie comedy drama Geezer. The film is written and directed by Lee Kirk (The Giant Mechanical Man) and stars Billie Joe Armstrong, Fred Armisen, Judy Greer, Selma Blair, Chris Messina and Madsiyn Shipman. The movie follows a happily married father of two who – on the occasion of his 40th birthday – seeks to revisit his former life as the lead singer in a popular punk band. Tim Perell (Shortbus, World’s Greatest Dad, Last Chance Harvey), Alex A. Ginzburg and Tony Lee are producing the project.

Dickon Hinchliffe Scoring Ricky Gervais’ ‘Special Correspondents’
Dickon Hinchliffe has composed the music for the Netflix original movie Special Correspondents. The film is written and directed by Ricky Gervais (The Office, The Invention of Lying) who also stars in the movie alongside Eric Bana,Vera Farmiga, Kelly Macdonald, Kevin Pollak, America Ferrera, Raúl Castillo and Benjamin Bratt. The comedy is based on the 2009 French film of the same title and follows a New York-based radio journalist who decides to fake front line war reports from the comfort of his hideout above a Spanish restaurant in Queens.
Dickon Hinchliffe to Score Ira Sachs’ ‘Little Men’
Dickon Hinchliffe has been hired to score the upcoming drama Little Men. The film is directed by Ira Sachs (Love Is Strange, Keep the Lights On) and stars Greg Kinnear, Jennifer Ehle, Paulina Garcia, Theo Taplitz and Michael Barbieri. The movie is set in Brooklyn and follows a two boys whose bond is tested by their parents’ battle over a dress shop lease. Sachs has also written the screenplay with Mauricio Zacharias and is producing the project with Lucas Joaquin (Complete Unknown), Christos V. Konstantakopoulos (Before Midnight, After the Fall), Jim Landé and L.A. Teodosio.

Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the holiday comedy Love the Coopers directed by Jessie Nelson and starring Alan Arkin, John Goodman, Ed Helms, Diane Keaton, Jake Lacy, Anthony Mackie, Amanda Seyfried, June Squibb, Marisa Tomei and Olivia Wilde. The film’s original score is composed by Nick Urata (Crazy, Stupid, Love, Paddington). Republic Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the film by Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Otis Redding, Sixpence None the Richer, Bob Dylan, Nina Simone, as well as track from the score. Also opening wide is the drama The 33 directed by Patricia Riggen and starring Antonio Banderas, Rodrigo Santoro, Juliette Binoche, James Brolin, Lou Diamond Phillips, Bob Gunton and Gabriel Byrne. James Horner (Titanic, Braveheart, Avatar, The Amazing Spider-Man) has composed the film’s original music. The movie is also dedicated to the late composer. WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring Horner’s score, as well as two songs by Cote de Pablo and Los Bunkers last week. ‘Man Up’ Soundtrack Announced
Fiction Records will release a soundtrack album for the romantic comedy Man Up. The album features the songs from the film by artists including Elbow, The B-52’s, The Nationals, Duran Duran, Whitesnake, Aaron Neville & more. Also included are selections from the movie’s original score composed by Dickon Hinchliffe (Winter’s Bone, Out of the Furnace, Last Chance Harvey) The soundtrack will be released on May 26, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A CD version is also available as an import on here. Man Up is directed by Ben Palmer and stars Lake Bell, Simon Pegg, Rory Kinnear and Olivia Williams. The movie follows a single woman who is mistaken for a stranger’s blind date – leading to her finding the perfect boyfriend.

Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the comedy sequel Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 directed by Andy Fickman and starring Kevin James, Raini Rodriguez, Neal McDonough and Shirley Knight. The film’s original music is composed by Rupert Gregson-Williams (Over the Hedge, Bee Movie, Click, Blended, Veep). No soundtrack album has been announced. Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 follows the security guard as he travels to Las Vegas to attend a Security Guard Expo with his teenage daughter and inadvertently discovers a heist. Also opening wide is Disneynature’s documentary Monkey Kingdom directed by Mark Linfield and Alastair Fothergill. Walt Disney Records has released the original song It’s Our World performed by Jacquie Lee from the film earlier this week. Click here to download the track. The film is directed by Ben Palmer (The Inbetweeners Movie) and stars Lake Bell, Simon Pegg, Olivia Williams, Rory Kinnear, Sharon Horgan, Harriet Walter, Ken Stott and Stephen Campbell Moore. The movie follows a single woman who is mistaken for a stranger’s blind date – leading to her finding the perfect boyfriend. Tess Morris has written the screenplay. Nira Park (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Scott Pilgrim vs the World) is producing the Big Talk Prods. and Studio Canal production with James Biddle (Cuban Fury, In Fear) and Rachael Prior.
Dickon Hinchliffe to Score ‘The Reach’
Dickon Hinchliffe has been tapped to score the upcoming thriller The Reach. The film is directed by Jean-Baptiste Leonetti and stars Michael Douglas, Jeremy Irvine, Hannah Mangan, Lawrence and Ronny Cox. The movie is based on the 1972 novel Deathwatch by Robb White and follows a businessman and big game hunter in pursuit of his ultimate prize who hires a college student to lead him into the American desert. Stephen Susco (The Grudge, Texas Chainsaw 3D) has written the screenplay and Douglas is also producing the project with Robert Mitas. Hinchliffe’s recent scoring credits include the critically acclaimed drama Locke starring Tom Hardy and last year’s Out of the Furnace starring Christian Bale & Casey Affleck.

Opening in most theaters is the comedy The Other Woman directed by Nick Cassavetes and starring Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Kate Upton, Taylor Kinney and Nicki Minaj. Aaron Zigman (Bridge to Tarabithia, The Proposal) who previously collaborated with the directors on such movies as John Q, The Notebook and My Sister’s Keeper has composed the film’s original score. Varese Sarabande has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as songs by The Noizeby Slade and T.Rex and three original Radio Caroline jingles from the 70s. ‘Locke’ Soundtrack Details
Fiction Records will release a soundtrack album for the drama Locke. The album features the film’s original music composed by Dickon Hinchliffe (Out of the Furnace, Winter’s Bone). The soundtrack will be released overseas on April 21, 2014. Details on the domestic release will be added to this article soon. Locke is written and directed by Steven Knight (Eastern Promises, Dirty Pretty Things) and stars Tom Hardy, Ruth Wilson, Olivia Colman, Andrew Scott, Tom Holland and Bill Milner. The movie follows a man who has the perfect family and a dream job, but a phone call forces him to make a decision that will put it all on the line. The drama premiered at last year’s Venice and Toronto Film Festival will be released on April 25 by A24 Films.
