Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for the film adaptation of the stage musical Tomorrow Morning. The album features the songs from the movie written by Laurence Mark Wythe (Through the Door) and performed by cast members Samantha Barks, Ramin Karimloo, Fleur East & others. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, September 6 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Tomorrow Morning is directed by Nick Winston and also stars Henry Goodman, Omid Djalili, Harriet Thorpe, Anita Dobson and Dame Joan Collins. ABKCO Records has released a soundtrack album for the documentary My Old School. The album features the film’s original music composed by singer/songwriter Shelly Poole who has made her feature scoring debut on the project. Also included are songs by Blue Rose Code, Lulu’s cover of Steely Dan’s My Old School, as well as Alan Cumming’s rendition of Younger Than Springtime (from the musical South Pacific). Composer Alexandre Desplat (The Shape of WaterThe Grand Budapest Hotel, The Queen, The King’s SpeechHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) is set to reteam with director Greta Gerwig on the upcoming comedy Barbie. The film based on the Mattel property stars Margot Robbie in the role, alongside Ryan Gosling, Will Ferrell, Simu Liu, Kate McKinnon, Alexandra Shipp, Emma Mackey and America Ferrera. Quartet Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 2007 drama Savage Grace directed by Tom Kalin and starring Julianne Moore, Eddie Redmayne, Stephen Dillane, Elena Anaya, Unax Ugalde, Belén Rueda and Hugh Dancy. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Fernando Velázquez (A Monster CallsThe Orphanage, The Impossible, Mama, Crimson PeakDevil, Hercules). Cristobal Tapia de Veer has won the Emmy Award for his score for the episode Mysterious Monkeys from the HBO original series The White Lotus in the Outstanding Music Composition for a Limited Series, Movie or a Special category at today’s second night of the Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles. He also picked up a second Emmy in the Outstanding Main Title Theme Music category for his work on the HBO show. Theodore Shapiro won his first Emmy Award for his score for the episode The We We Are from Apple TV+’s Severance in the Outstanding Music Composition for a Series category. Walt Disney Records will release a soundtrack album for the Disney+ animated series Cars on the Road. The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by Jake Monaco (Dumplin’, Flora & Ulysses, Let’s Be Cops, Forky Asks a QuestionJerry & Marge Go LargeLamp Life, Out). Also included is the main title song written by Monaco & Bobby Podesta and performed by Bobby Hamrick (check out the main title sequence after the jump), as well as two other songs performed by the series’ voice cast. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, September 5 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Cars on the Road is directed by Steve Purcell, Podesta & Brian Fee, produced by Marc Sondheimer and stars Owen Wilson and Larry the Cable Guy. Premiering in the U.S. today is the Showtime sports documentary McEnroe directed by Barney Douglas about the tennis legend and four-time US Open champion. The film’s original music is composed by The Maccabees guitarist and songwriter Felix White (The Edge). A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score was released digitally this summer and a vinyl edition will be coming out in 2023. Premiering on Thursday, September 8, is the Disney+ original movie Pinocchio directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Tom Hanks, Luke Evans, Cynthia Erivo, Keegan-Michael Key and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth. Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, Avengers: Endgame, Forrest Gump, Cast Away) has composed the film’s original score and also co-wrote original songs with Glen Ballard. emmysDavid Schwartz has won his first Primetime Emmy Award in the Outstanding Music Composition for a Documentary Series or Special (Original Dramatic Score) category for his score for the Amazon documentary Lucy and Desi at today’s first night of the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards. He has previously been Emmy-nominated three times for his Arrested Development score and his main title theme music from Deadwood: The Movie and Wolf Lake. Felix White (of the indie rock band The Maccabees) has released a soundtrack album for the Showtime sports documentary McEnroe. The album features the composer/songwriter/guitarist’s original score from the film and is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out audio samples. A limited vinyl edition (in different variants) is set to come out next year and is available to order here. McEnroe is directed by Barney Douglas (who previously collaborated with White on 2019’s The Edge) and centers on the four-time US Open champion from New York as he explores his pursuit of perfection, his rockstar lifestyle and painful personal life and shares his losses of mental health and family life to win at all costs.
