Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the drama The Son. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Hans Zimmer (The Lion King, Dune, Inception, Gladiator, The Dark Knight, Interstellar, Pirates of the Caribbean). The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, November 18 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. The Son is co-written (with Christopher Hampton) and directed by Florian Zeller and stars Hugh Jackman, Laura Dern, Vanessa Kirby, Zen McGrath and Anthony Hopkins. The movie based on Zeller’s stage play of the same title follows a man whose hectic life with his infant and new partner is upended when his ex-wife appears at his door to discuss their son, who is now a teenager. Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the superhero movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Angela Bassett, Florence Kasumba, Winston Duke and Michaela Coel. The film’s original score is composed by Ludwig Göransson (The Mandalorian, Creed, Tenet, Community, Turning Red). Hollywood Records & Marvel Music have released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today (click here for the full album details) and a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from and inspired by the movie was released last Friday by Hollywood & Roc Nation Records & Def Jam Recordings (click here for more information).
Opening in select theaters today is the coming-of-age drama The Fabelmans directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Michelle Williams, Paul Dano, Gabriel LaBelle, Seth Rogen, Julia Butters, Robin Bartlett, Jeannie Berlin, Keeley Karsten and Judd Hirsch. John Williams (Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Jurassic Park, Jaws, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, Schindler’s List) has composed the film’s original music. Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as several classical pieces today. Disney+ announced today that Ludwig Göransson (Black Panther, Creed, Tenet, Venom, Turning Red) has composed the original music for the new animated short Zen – Grogu and Dust Bunnies. The film is directed by Katsuya Kondo and produced by Lucasfilm and Japanese animation studio Studio Ghibli. Göransson has previously scored the first two seasons of Lucasfilm’s The Mandalorian, which introduced the character of Grogu/Baby Yoda and also contributed music to The Book of Boba Fett.
