Opening in select theaters this weekend is the romantic drama Empire of Light written and directed by Sam Mendes and starring Olivia Colman, Micheal Ward, Toby Jones, Tanya Moodie, Tom Brooke, Crystal Clarke and Colin Firth. The film’s original music is composed by Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross (The Social Network, Watchmen, Soul, Gone Girl, Mank, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo). The Null Corporation has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score today. Opening in New York and Los Angeles this weekend before expanding to more markets in the coming weeks is the psychological drama The Whale directed by Darren Aronofsky and starring Brendan Fraser, Sadie Sink, Hong Chau, Ty Simpkins and Samantha Morton. Rob Simonsen (Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Foxcatcher, Nerve, The Way Back, The Adam Project) has composed the film’s original music.
