Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the musical fantasy adventure Wonka directed by Paul King and starring Timothée Chalamet, Calah Lane, Hugh Grant, Keegan-Michael Key, Rowan Atkinson, Sally Hawkins, Jim Carter and Olivia Colman. The film’s original songs are written by Neil Hannon (of The Divine Comedy) and the movie’s original score is composed by Joby Talbot (Sing, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Closed Circuit, Penelope). Opening in select theaters today before expanding to more markets next Friday, December 22, is the satire American Fiction written and directed by Cord Jefferson and starring Jeffrey Wright, Tracee Ellis Ross, Sterling K. Brown, Leslie Uggams, John Ortiz, Erika Alexander, Adam Brody, Keith David and Issa Rae. Laura Karpman (The Marvels, What If…?, Ms. Marvel, Lovecraft Country, Underground, Taken, Set It Up) has composed the film’s original music. Sony Masterworks has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Reneé Rapp’s & Megan Thee Stallion’s Original Song ‘Not My Fault’ from ‘Mean Girls’ Movie Musical Released

Interscope Records has released the first song from the soundtrack for the film adaptation of the stage musical Mean Girls. Available to stream/download now on all major digital music platforms is Not My Fault performed by Reneé Rapp & Megan Thee Stallion who are also credited for co-producing/writing the track with Jeff Richmond, Nell Benjamin, Billy Walsh, Ryan Tedder, Alexander 23, Jasper Harris and Alexander Glantz. Also check out the official lyric video after the jump. A full soundtrack album will be released on January 12, 2024. Mean Girls is directed by Samantha Jayne & Arturo Perez Jr. and stars Angourie Rice, Auli’i Cravalho, Rapp, Jaquel Spivey, Bebe Wood, Avantika, Jenna Fischer, Christopher Briney, Busy Philipps, Tina Fey (who also wrote the screenplay) and Tim Meadows. ‘Hilda’ Season 3 Soundtrack Album Released

Madison Gate Records has released a new soundtrack album for the Netflix animated series Hilda. The album features selections of the original score from the show’s third and final season composed by Ryan Carlson (Abby Hatcher, Fuzzly Catcher). Also included is the song Uncrossed Path (as featured during the end credits of the series finale) performed by Frankie Cosmos, as as well as Bottom of the Sea performed by Raj Ghatak. Jeff Cardoni (Silicon Valley, The Kominsky Method, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, CSI :Miami, White House Plumbers, Just Friends) is scoring the new NBC comedy Extended Family. The show is created by Mike O’Malley (Survivor’s Remorse) and stars Jon Cryer, Donald Faison, Abigail Spencer, Finn Sweeney and Sofia Capanna. The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by Vicente Ortiz Gimeno (The Tribe). Also included is the song Para Papa performed by Tanya Farad (portrayed by Amparo Piñero). ‘Oppenheimer: Live in Concert’ Experience Announced

Universal Pictures and Syncopy today announced Oppenheimer: Live in Concert, a live-to-film concert experience featuring a 53-piece orchestra under the direction of the film’s Academy Award-winning composer Ludwig Göransson (Black Panther, The Mandalorian, Tenet, Creed, Turning Red), conducted by Anthony Parnther. The event will take place on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Royce Hall, on the Westwood campus of UCLA in Los Angeles and will include a special introduction by Oppenheimer writer/director/producer Christopher Nolan. The full details of the soundtrack album for The Color Purple have been revealed. The album features the songs from film, including new version of tracks originally written by Brenda Russell, Allee Willis & Stephen Bray for the 2015 stage musical of the same title, as well as the original songs Keep It Movin’ co-written (with Denisia Andrews, Brittany Coney & Morten Ristorp) and performed by Halle (with Phylicia Pearl Mpasi) and the end credits song Superpower written and produced by The-Dream and performed by Fantasia. An “extended” version of the soundtrack also features numerous songs inspired by the movie by artists such as Alicia Keys, Usher, Mary J. Blige, H.E.R., Megan Thee Stallion, Jennifer Hudson & others. The soundtracks will be released digitally tomorrow, December 15 by WaterTower Music and gamma.
