Two new movies are opening in wide release this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the sci-fi thriller Total Recall directed by Len Wiseman and starring Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale, Bryan Cranston, Jessica Biel, Bill Nighy, John Cho and Ethan Hawke. Harry Gregson-Williams has composed the film’s original score. Madison Gate Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music earlier this week. The album is available digitally on iTunes and a physical release is reportedly in the works. Visit our previous news article for the full soundtrack details. Also check out a short interview with Gregson-Williams about his work on the project in Beatweek Magazine.
Also opening wide is the family movie Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days directed by David Bowers and starring Zachary Gordon, Robert Capron, Devon Bostick, Rachael Harris and Steve Zahn. The film’s score is composed by Edward Shearmur (Charlie’s Angels, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow) who previously scored last year’s second installment in the series. No plans for a soundtrack release have been announced. To watch the trailer and learn more about the third part of the franchise, visit 20th Century Fox’s official movie website.
