Variety is reporting that Moby is set to score the upcoming romance Tecie. He is also writing the screenplay for the film, which will be directed by actor Mark Webber (who previously helmed several features, including 2019’s The Place of No Words) and is set in the Los Angeles animal rights and activism scene. No casting announcements have been made yet and no plot synopsis has been revealed yet.

Moby to Compose Music for Yaniv Raz’s ‘The Great Emu War’
THR is reporting that Moby will contribute original music to the upcoming Australian action adventure comedy The Great Emu War. The film will be directed by Yaniv Raz (Dr. Birds Advice for Sad Poets) and is set to star John Cleese, Monty Franklin, Jim Jefferies and Rhys Darby. The movie is set in Western Australia in 1932 and follows a group of farmers who complain that emu are eating their crops and creating a nuisance and turn to the Australian government, which sends heavily-armed divisions of the army to wipe out the bird. Franklin also wrote the screenplay.

Three new movies are opening nationwide this week:
Opening in most theaters is the comedy Game Night directed by John Francis Daley & Jonathan Goldstein and starring Jason Bateman, Rachel McAdams, Billy Magnussen, Sharon Horgan, Lamorne Morris, Kylie Bunbury, Jesse Plemons and Kyle Chandler. The film’s original music is composed by Cliff Martinez (Drive, Traffic, Contagion, Solaris, The Knick, The Neon Demon). Also opening wide is the sci-fi thriller Annihilation written and directed by Alex Garland and starring Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Gina Rodgriguez, Tessa Thompson, Tuva Novotny and Oscar Isaac. Ben Salisbury & Geoff Barrow (Ex Machina, Free Fire) have composed the film’s original music. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score. Heather Graham’s ‘Half Magic’ to Feature New Songs by Moby
Moby has contributed several new songs to the comedy Half Magic. The film marks the directorial debut of actress Heather Graham who also stars in the movie alongside Angela Kinsey, Stephanie Beatriz, Jason Lewis, Thomas Lennon, Chris D’Elia, Molly Shannon and Johnny Knoxville. The movie also features additional music by David Schommer, composer Alex Wurman (March of the Penguins, Anchorman) and singer/songwriter Holly Miranda.
Mindy Jones’ ‘Run Down to the River’ from ‘Company Town’ to Be Released
Mindy Jones will be releasing her original song Run Down to the River from the documentary Company Town. The track is written and performed by the singer/songwriter and is produced by Moby. The song will be released as a digital single on December 7, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Company Town is directed by Natalie Kottke & Erica Sardarian and takes a look inside one hidden American town, where the company rules and the government’s negligence pushes them to stand up and fight for justice. The movie was filmed nearly four years following one man’s journey to save his town against one of the nation’s largest paper mill and chemical plants.
Mark Webber’s ‘The Ever After’ to Feature Music by Moby
Moby is contributing music to the upcoming indie drama The Ever After. The film is directed by Mark Webber (The End of Love, Explicit Ills) who also stars in the film alongside his wife Teresa Palmer, Melissa Leo, Phoebe Tonkin, Rosario Dawson and Joshua Leonard. Moby also appears in a supporting role in the movie. The drama follows a mother and wife and her fashion photographer husband who must confront their innermost vulnerabilities to recover their disintegrating marriage. Webber and Palmer have co-written the screenplay and are also producing the project through their production companies Poor Rich Kids and Yumehome.

Expected to top the weekend box office is the action thriller The Bourne Legacy directed and co-written by Tony Gilroy and starring Jeremy Renner, Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Stacy Keach, Albert Finney, Scott Glenn, David Strathairn and Joan Allen. The film’s score is composed by James Newton Howard. A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as a new version of Moby’s track Extreme Ways has been released on Back Lot Music and Varese Sarabande. The film’s score is composed by Theodore Shapiro who previously worked with Roach on the comedy Dinner for Schmucks and this year’s HBO drama Game Change. A soundtrack album was set to be released by WaterTower Music as listed in the film’s credits, but no announcement has been made yet. Moby Records New Version of ‘Extreme Ways’ for ‘The Bourne Legacy’
Spinner has published a short video from the recording sessions of a new version of Moby‘s song Extreme Ways for Tony Gilroy’s action thriller The Bourne Legacy. The track was partly recorded with a 110-piece orchestra with the help of composers James Newton Howard (who also composed the film’s score) and Joseph Trapanese (Tron: Uprising). Check out the video after the jump. The new version of Extreme Ways, as well as as purely orchestral version of the track has just been released digitally and can be downloaded on Amazon. The soundtrack for The Bourne Legacy featuring the song and James Newton Howard’s score is now available digitally on iTunes from Back Lot Music and will be released on CD on August 7 by Varese Sarabande.

Varese Sarabande Records has announced the details of the soundtrack release for Tony Gilroy’s action thriller The Bourne Legacy. The album features the film’s original score composed by James Newton Howard. Also included is a new version of Moby’s song Extreme Ways, which has been featured in all of the previous three films in the Bourne series. The soundtrack will be released on July 31, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips will be added to this article in a couple of weeks. The Bourne Legacy starring Jeremy Renner, Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Stacy Keach, Albert Finney, Scott Glenn and Joan Allen will be released on August 10, 2012 by Universal Pictures.
Moby to Score ‘The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman’
Deadline is reporting that Moby has signed on to score the upcoming romance The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman. The film is directed by Frederik Bond and stars Shia LaBeouf, Evan Rachel Wood, Mads Mikkelsen, Melissa Leo and Til Schweiger. Matt Drake (Project X) is writing the screenplay and Albert Berger & Ron Yerxa (Little Miss Sunshine, Cold Mountain), Craig J. Flores (300) and William Horberg (The Talented Mr. Ripley) are producing the Volgate Productions and Bona Fide Productions film. The project marks Moby’s highest profile scoring assignment to date. He has previously scored several shorts and documentaries, including the Academy Award-nominated Wasteland and The Tsunami and the Cherry Blossom.
