Three new movies are opening nationwide this week:

Opening in most theaters is the comedy Game Night directed by John Francis Daley & Jonathan Goldstein and starring Jason Bateman, Rachel McAdams, Billy Magnussen, Sharon Horgan, Lamorne Morris, Kylie Bunbury, Jesse Plemons and Kyle Chandler. The film’s original music is composed by Cliff Martinez (DriveTrafficContagion, SolarisThe KnickThe Neon Demon). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Also opening wide is the sci-fi thriller Annihilation written and directed by Alex Garland and starring Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Gina Rodgriguez, Tessa Thompson, Tuva Novotny and Oscar Isaac. Ben Salisbury & Geoff Barrow (Ex MachinaFree Fire) have composed the film’s original music. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score. Also opening nationwide is the romantic drama Every Day directed by Michael Sucsy based on David Levithan’s bestselling YA novel and starring Angourie Rice, Maria Bello, Debby Ryan, Jacob Batalon, Justice Smith, Owen Teague, Lucas Jade Zumann and Colin Ford. The film’s original score is composed by Elliott Wheeler (The Get Down, Restraint). No word on a soundtrack album. Opening in limited release is the horror thriller The Cured written and directed by David Freyne and starring Ellen Page, Sam Keeley, Tom Vaughan-Lawlor and Paula Malcomson. Rory Friers & Niall Kennedy of the Irish rock band And So I Watch You From Afar have composed the film’s original music. Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the score next Friday, March 2. Also opening in limited release is the action adventure 7 Guardians of the Tomb co-written and directed by Kimble Rendall and starring Kelsey Grammer, Kellan Lutz and Li BingBing. The film’s original music is composed by Roc Chen. The Chinese-Australian co-production follows a team of scientists who lose a colleague in an ancient labyrinth and must work together to recover him while trying to make the discovery of a century. The movie is being released in theaters and on VOD by Gravitas Ventures.

Also opening in select theaters and on VOD is the thriller Beast of Burden directed by Jesper Ganslandt and starring Daniel Radcliffe, Pablo Schreiber, Grace Gummer and Robert Wisdom. The film’s original music composed by Tim Jones (ChuckHuman TargetCultBobby Z). Filmtrax has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Also opening in select cities is the comedy Half Magic directed by Heather Graham who also stars in the movie alongside Angela Kinsey, Stephanie Beatriz, Jason Lewis, Thomas Lennon, Chris D’Elia, Molly Shannon and Johnny Knoxville. Moby has contributed original songs to the movie, which also features additional music by David Schommer, Alex Wurman and Holly Miranda. No soundtrack album has been announced. Another limited release this week is the period drama The Young Karl Marx directed by Raoul Peck and starring August Diehl, Stefan Konarske, Vicky Krieps, Hannah Steele, Olivier Gourmet and Alexander Scheer. The film’s original music is composed by Alexei Aigui (I Am Not Your Negro). The Orchard has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Also opening in limited release is the Chinese action movie Operation Red Sea directed by Dante Lam and starring Zhang Yi, Du Jiang, Huang Jingyu, Hai Qing and Prince Mak. Elliot Leung has composed the film’s original music. Plaza Mayor Company has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Also opening in select cities is the sci-fi thriller Curvature directed by Diego Hallivis and starring Lyndsy Fonseca, Glenn Morshower and Linda Hamilton. The film’s original music is composed by Adam Taylor (The Handmaid’s Tale, Damnation, Before I Fall). No word on a soundtrack release. The movie revolves around a scientist who must break into a top-secret facility in order to travel back in time and prevent a murder after receiving a mysterious phone call from herself. The thriller is being released in theaters and on VOD by Screen Media Films.
