Walt Disney Records has announced a soundtrack album for Tim Burton’s stop-motion animated feature Frankenweenie. The album includes the original song Strange Love written for the film by Karen O (Where the Wild Things Are). Also featured on the release are songs by artists including Neon Trees, Passion Pit, Grouplove, Kimbra, Plain White T’s, Robert Smith and Imagine Dragons. The soundtrack will be released on September 25, 2012 and can now be pre-ordered on Amazon. Audio clips will be added to this article next month. As previously reported, the label is also releasing a separate soundtrack featuring Danny Elfman’s original score from the movie (click here for the recently added cover art). Ludwig Göransson is scoring the upcoming indie drama Fruitvale. The film marks the feature directing debut of Ryan Coogler. The movie starring Michael B. Jordan, Octavia Spencer, Kevin Durand, Chad Michael Murray, Melonie Diaz, Ahna O’Reilly and Tristan Wilds tells the true story of Oscar Grant, a young black man detained on New Year’s Day 2009 by the Bay Area Rapid Transit police and shot in the back and killed. Nonesuch Records will be releasing the soundtrack album for Paul Thomas Anderson’s highly anticipated drama The Master. The album features the film’s original music composed by Jonny Greenwood who previously collaborated with the director on 2007’s There Will Be Blood. The soundtrack will be released on September 11, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The full album details will be posted on this site within the next couple of weeks. The Master stars Phillip Seymour Hoffman as a charismatic intellectual who hatches a faith-based organization that begins to catch on in America in 1952. Nick Urata will perform an intimate show at Largo at the Coronet on Thursday, August 16 in Los Angeles to celebrate the release of his soundtrack to Ruby Sparks. The composer and DeVotchKa frontman will be accompanied by an eight-piece ensemble and perform selections from the score for Ruby Sparks, other score pieces he composed, including the music to Little Miss Sunshine and I Love You Phillip Morris, as well as solo material. The album features the film’s original score composed by Brian Tyler (Fast Five, Eagle Eye) who previously scored the first installment in the series. The soundtrack will be released digitally on August 14, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips can be checked out after the jump. Varese Sarabande has announced a soundtrack release for the historical epic drama For Greater Glory: The True Story of Cristiada. The album features the film’s original score composed and conducted by James Horner. The composer’s music was recorded with a 100-piece orchestra and choir at Abbey Road Studios in London. Nick Cave and Warren Ellis have composed the score for the French drama A Few Hours of Spring (Quelques heures de printemps). The film is directed by Stephane Brize and stars Vincent Lindon, Helene Vincent, Emmanuelle Seigner, Olivier Perrier and Sylvie Jobert. The movie follows a fortysomething man who has to go back and live with his mother, a situation that renews all the fury of their earlier relationship. Brize has also written the screenplay with Florence Vignon. Milena Poylo and Gilles Sacuto (Incendies) are producing the TS Production project. ‘Franklin & Bash’ Soundtrack Announced

Madison Gate Records has announced a soundtrack EP for the TNT series Franklin & Bash. The release features six original songs from the show performed by Pete, including the opening title song Mixture. The six-track EP is set to be released on August 14, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on iTunes. Franklin & Bash created by Kevin Falls and Bill Chais stars Breckin Meyer and Mark-Paul Gosselaar as two lawyers and lifelong friends who are recruited by a large firm’s major partner after winning a high-profile case. Malcolm McDowell , Dana Davis, Kumail Nanjiani and Reed Diamond are also starring. Sean Callery has been tapped to score the upcoming CBS drama Elementary. The show is a modern day take on Sherlock Holmes set in New York and follows the iconic detective who has been assigned to live with his worst nightmare-sober coach, Dr. Joan Watson. Jonny Lee Miller stars as Holmes and Lucy Liu and Aidan Quinn are co-starring. Rob Doherty created the series is based on the works of Arthur Conan Doyle and is also executive producing with Sarah Timberman & Carl Beverly (Justified, Kidnapped) and Michael Cuesta (Homeland). Lakeshore Records has announced the details of the soundtrack release for the romantic action comedy Hit & Run. The album includes the music from the film by artists including Bob Mervak, Ishmael Jingo, Lou Rawls, Kool and the Gang, John Martyn, Dazz Band and The Highlighters. The soundtrack will be released digitally on August 21, 2012 and physically on September 25. The CD is now available for pre-order on Amazon and audio clips can be checked out below. Hit & Run is directed by Dax Shepard and David Palmer and stars Shepard, Kristen Bell, Bradley Cooper, Tom Arnold, Beau Bridges, Kristin Chenoweth, David Koechner, Michael Rosenbaum, Joy Bryant and Ryan Hansen.
