Pitchfork (via The Playlist) has revealed the soundtrack details for Cameron Crowe’s comedy drama We Bought a Zoo. The album features the original music from the movie by Sigur Rós frontman Jónsi who makes his studio feature scoring debut on the project. Also included on the soundtrack are reworked versions of songs from the musician’s 2010 solo album, along with Sigur Rós’s Hoppipolla. Jónsi collaborated with Russell Crowe on one of the tracks and composer Nico Muhly is providing the orchestral arrangements. The soundtrack will be released on December 13, 2011 by Columbia Records and is available for pre-order on Amazon. Check back on this site for audio clips from all tracks on the album. The details of the soundtrack album for Aardman’s and Sony Pictures Animation’s Arthur Christmas have been revealed. The album features the original score from the movie by Harry Gregson-Williams who previously scored Aardman’s Chicken Run (with John Powell) and Flushed Away. Madison Gate Records will be releasing the album in the US on November 22, 2011, both digitally and as an on demand CD-R on Amazon. Sony Classical is handling the release overseas. Alexandre Azaria to Score ‘Lockout’

Alexandre Azaria has been tapped to score the upcoming sci-fi adventure Lockout. The movie is directed by James Mather & Stephen St. Leger and stars Guy Pearce, Maggie Grace, Peter Stormare and Tom Hollander. The film centers on a falsely convicted ex-government agent whose only chance of freedom is to accept a mission to rescue the president’s daughter from rioting prisoners at an outer space maximum security prison. Luc Besson co-wrote the script with the directors and also serves as an executive producer on the EuropaCorp production. Azaria has previously scored the production company’s two The Transporter sequels, which were also produced by Besson. FilmDistrict has picked up domestic rights for Lockout and is planning a theatrical release on April 13, 2012.

Varese Sarabande has announced the details of the score album for the comedy A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas. The soundtrack includes the original score from the movie composed by William Ross. The album will be released on November 15, 2011 and is available for pre-order on Amazon. As previously announced, Watertower Music has released a separate soundtrack with the songs from the film, two of which feature Ross’ arrangements. Dario Marianelli to Reunite with Joe Wright on ‘Anna Karenina’

Dario Marianelli is set to reunite with Joe Wright on the director’s upcoming movie adaptation of Leo Tolstoy’s classic novel Anna Karenina. The movie stars Keira Knightley in the title role, Jude Law as her husband Aleksei Karenin and Aaron Johnson as Count Vronsky. Kelly Macdonald, Emily Watson, Matthew Macfayden, Olivia Williams, Domhnall Gleeson, Alice Vikander and Ruth Wilson are co-starring in the film. Tom Stoppard (Shakespeare in Love, Empire of the Sun) adapted Tolstoy’s novel for the screen and Tim Bevan & Eric Fellner (Love Actually, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) and Richard Webster (Atonement, Eastern Promises) are producing the Working Title Films production. Marianelli and Wright have previously collaborated on Pride and Prejudice, The Soloist and Atonement, the latter of which earned the composer his first Academy Award. Joseph LoDuca is scoring the upcoming action comedy Freaky Deaky. The film directed by Charles Matthau is based on the novel by Elmore Leonard (Jackie Brown, Out of Sight). The movie starring Billy Burke, Christian Slater, Crispin Glover, Michael Jai White, Breanne Racano and Roger Bart centers on a LAPD bomb squad officer who stumbles upon a plot by two former hippie activists who plan to use their bomb-making skills to trick an alcoholic movie mogul into handing over millions of dollars. ‘Fastest’ Soundtrack Details

Milan Records has announced a soundtrack release for the documentary Fastest. The album features the score composed by tomandandy (Resident Evil: Afterlife, The Strangers). The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 1, 2011 and a CD version is scheduled for a December 6 release and is available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips from all tracks on the album can be checked out after the jump. Fastest is directed by Mark Neale who previously helmed the 2003 documentary Faster. The movie about the intense and thrilling reality of the MotoGP World Championship, documenting a pivotal moment in the sport was shot around the world in 2010 and 2011 and is narrated by Ewan McGregor. Elia Cmiral to Score ‘Piranha 3DD’

Elia Cmiral has been hired to score the horror sequel Piranha 3DD. The movie is directed by John Gulager who is best known for helming the Feast trilogy. Ving Rhames, Christopher Llyod and Paul Scheer are reprising their roles from last year’s original film. They are joined by new cast members Danielle Panabaker, Gary Busey, Katrina Bowden, David Koechner, Matt Bush, Chris Zylka, Megan Tandy and David Hasselhoff. The film is reportedly set in a newly opened waterpark. Marcus Dunston and Patrick Melton (Saw IV, V, VI and The Final Chapter) wrote the project’s screenplay and Mark Canton (300, Immortals), Joel Soisson (Dracula 2000) and Marc Toberoff (My Favorite Martian) are producing. Three movies are opening in wide release this weekend:
Opening in most theaters this week is Dreamworks Animation’s Puss in Boots directed by Chris Miller and featuring the voice talent of Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, Zach Galifianakis and Billy Bob Thornton. The film’s music is composed by Henry Jackman. Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring Jackman’s music, as well as two tracks by Rodrigo y Gabriela this past Tuesday. Also opening wide is the sci-fi thriller In Time directed by Andrew Niccol and starring Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfried, Olivia Wilde, Cillian Murphy and Alex Pettyfer. The film’s score is composed by Craig Armstrong. A soundtrack album featuring Armstrong’s music has been released digitally earlier this week by Lakeshore Records. Watertower Music has announced the details for the soundtrack album of the comedy A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas. The album features songs from the movie performed by RZA & Da’vone Mc Donald, Bing Crosby, Augie Rios, Johnny Mathis, CJ Webbe and Neil Patrick Harris who also stars in the film . Also included on the release is one track by Paul Oakenfold and the film’s composer William Ross. The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 1, 2011 on Amazon and iTunes.
