Three movies are opening in wide release this weekend:

Opening in most theaters this week is Dreamworks Animation’s Puss in Boots directed by Chris Miller and featuring the voice talent of Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, Zach Galifianakis and Billy Bob Thornton. The film’s music is composed by Henry Jackman. Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring Jackman’s music, as well as two tracks by Rodrigo y Gabriela this past Tuesday. Also opening wide is the sci-fi thriller In Time directed by Andrew Niccol and starring Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfried, Olivia Wilde, Cillian Murphy and Alex Pettyfer. The film’s score is composed by Craig Armstrong. A soundtrack album featuring Armstrong’s music has been released digitally earlier this week by Lakeshore Records. The final wide release of the week is the drama The Rum Diary directed by Bruce Robinson and starring Johnny Depp, Amber Heard, Aaron Eckhart, Giovanni Ribisi, Richard Jenkins and Amaury Nolasco. Christopher Young has written the score for the movie. A soundtrack album featuring Young’s score, as well as four songs performed by Johnny Depp has been released digitally by Lakeshore Records. A physical release is set to be released on November 29. Opening in limited release is the conspiracy thriller Anonymous directed by Roland Emmerich and starring Rhys Ifans, Joely Richardson, Vanessa Redgrave, Jamie Campbell Bower and David Thewlis. The film’s music is written by Thomas Wander and Harald Kloser. Madison Gate Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer duo’s score. Also opening in select cities is the indie drama Like Crazy directed by Drake Doremus and starring Anton Yelchin, Felicity Jones and Jennifer Lawrence. The film’s score is written by Dustin O’Halloran. Relativity Music Group has released two soundtracks for the movie, including a score album and an album featuring the songs from the movie. Also receiving a limited release is the thriller The Double directed by Michael Brandy and starring Topher Grace, Richard Gere, Stana Katic, Odette Yustman and Michael Sheen. The film’s score is written by Academy Award-nominated composer John Debney. No soundtrack album has been announced yet, but a 4 minute track from the score can be checked out on the composer’s official Facebook page (posting from September 27, 2011).
