La-La Land Records has announced a 3-CD set of the scores to the comedy trilogy The Naked Gun created by David Zucker, Jim Abrahams & Jerry Zucker and starring Leslie Nielsen. The album features the original music from The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!, The Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear and The Naked Gun 33 1/2: The Final Insult composed by Ira Newborn (Ferris’ Bueller’s Day Off, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Sixteen Candles). The soundtrack includes the remastered and expanded score from the first two parts, as well as the world premiere release of Newborn’s music from the third installment. Also featured are the songs from the films, including This Could Be the Start of Something performed by Pia Zadora and Enrico Pallazzo’s rendition of The Star Spangle Banner. Varese Sarabande will release a soundtrack album for the Showtime original series Penny Dreadful. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s first season composed by Golden Globe nominee Abel Korzeniowski (A Single Man, W.E., Romeo & Juliet). The soundtrack will be released on August 19, 2014. Check back on this page for the full album details. Penny Dreadful is created by John Logan and stars Eva Green, Josh Hartnett, Timothy Dalton, Reeve Carney, Rory Kinnear, Harry Treadaway, Billie Piper and Danny Sapani. The show is set in Victorian London and weaves together such characters as Dr. Frankenstein, Dorian Gray, and iconic figures from the novel Dracula. Alberto Iglesias has been hired to score the upcoming biblical epic Exodus: Gods and Kings. The film is directed by Ridley Scott and stars Christian Bale, Aaron Paul, Joel Edgerton, Sigourney Weaver and John Turturro, Ben Kingsley, Indira Varma, Ben Mendelsohn and Maria Valverde. The movie is based on the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt as led by Moses and related in the Old Testament Book of Exodus. Steve Zaillian (Schindler’s List, Moneyball, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) has written the screenplay based on a screen story by Bill Collage & Adam Cooper (Accepted). Back Lot Music will release the official soundtrack album for the thriller sequel The Purge: Anarchy. The album features the film’s original music composed by Nathan Whitehead (The Last Ship) who previously scored last year’s first installment in the series. John Dragonetti to Score ‘Scout’

John Dragonetti has been tapped to score the upcoming indie coming-of-age comedy drama Scout. The film is written and directed by Laurie Weltz (Wresting with Alligators) and stars India Ennenga, Nikki Reed, Danny Glover, Ellen Burstyn, James Frecheville, Onata Aprile and Shelly Hennig. The movie follows a rebellious young girl who convinces a suicidal young man to go on a road trip with her across Texas to track down her little sister, who’s been taken by their estranged carnie father. ‘The Congress’ U.S. Version Soundtrack Details

The details of the U.S. version of the soundtrack album for the hybrid animated/live action movie The Congress have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Max Richter (Disconnect, The Leftovers) who previously collaborated with director Ari Folman on Waltz With Bashir. Also included are versions of the songs Forever Young and If It Be Your Will performed by actress Robin Wright. The soundtrack will be released on July 22, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label has previously released a soundtrack album overseas last year when the film opened in Europe. The Congress stars Robin Wright, Harvey Keitel, Jon Hamm, Paul Giamatti, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Danny Huston. Dave Porter has signed on to score the upcoming Starz original series Flesh and Bone. The show is created by Moira Walley-Beckett and stars Sarah Hay, Irina Dvorovenko, Sascha Radetsky, Raychel Diane Weiner, Emily Tyra and Damon Herriman. The series follows a young ballet dancer with a distinctly troubled past, as she joins a prestigious ballet company in New York. Walley-Beckett is also executive producing the project with Lawrence Bender (Pulp Fiction, Inglorious Basterds, Good Will Hunting), Kevin Brown (Roswell) and John Melfi (House of Cards, Sex and the City).
