Vetur Music will release a soundtrack album for the German thriller Prosecution (Staatsschutz). The album features the film’s original music written by Icelandic pianist/composer Gabríel Ólafs who has made his feature scoring debut on the project. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, August 27 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Prosecution is directed by Faraz Shariat and stars Chen Emilie Yan, Julia Jentsch, Alev Irmak, Arnd Klawitter and Sebastian Urzendowsky. The movie follows a German/Korean state prosecutor who – after surviving a racist attack – takes her own case to court – confronting both the perpetrators and the justice system that turns a blind eye to right-wing extremism. The thriller premiered at this year’s Berlin Film Festival and will be released in German theaters tomorrow. No word yet on a domestic distribution deal.
