the-roverComposer Antony Partos is reuniting with director David Michod on the upcoming futuristic thriller The Rover. The movie stars Guy Pearce, Robert Pattinson, Scoot McNairy, David Field, Anthony Hayes, Gillian Jones and Susan Prior. The film is set in the future a decade after the collapse of the western economic system and follows a loner traveling in the desolate Australian outback, where a gang of thieves steal his car and leave behind a wounded member who is forced to help track down the gang. Michod has also written screenplay based on a story by himself and actor Joel Edgerton. The director is also producing the project with Liz Watts (Animal Kingdom, Little Fish) for Porchlight Film and David Linde (360) for Lava Bear Films. t-s-spivetSony Music has released a soundtrack album for Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s 3D family adventure The Young and Prodigious T.S. Spivet (El extraordinario viaje de T.S. Spive). The album features the film’s original music composed by Denis Sanacore. The soundtrack is now available both digitally and physically in France. Visit the French Amazon store to listen to audio clips. No domestic release has been announced yet. The Young and Prodigious T.S. Spivet is co-written and directed by Jeunet (Amelie, Alien: Resurrection, Delicatessen) is based on the novel by Reif Larsen and stars Helena Bonham Carter, Kyle Catlett and Judy Davis. The movie follows a 12-year-old boy with extraordinary skills who leaves his family in Montana and takes off on a cross-country adventure to the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, D.C. to receive a prize. the-scapegoatChapter 2 will release a soundtrack album for the French comedy drama The Scapegoat (Au bonheur des ogres). The album features the film’s original score composed by Golden Globe-nominated composer Rolfe Kent (SidewaysUp in the Air, Election). Also included are the songs featured in the movie by artists including Ben Howard and C2C. The soundtrack is now available digitally in France (click here to listen to audio clips). The Scapegoat is directed by Nicolas Bary and stars Berenice Bejo (The Artist) as an investigative journalist, alongside Raphael Personnaz and Emir Kusturica. The movie based on the classic novel by Daniel Pennac is produced by Dimitri Rassam (Upside Down). The comedy will be released this Wednesday, October 16 in France. 12-years-a-slaveColumbia Records will release a soundtrack album for the critically acclaimed period drama 12 Years a Slave. The album features music from and inspired by the film. Among the artists contributing to the soundtrack are John Legend, Alicia Keys and Gary Clark Jr. The full details are expected to be announced within the next couple of days. The movie features an original score composed by Hans Zimmer. In addition, pianist/composer Nicholas Britell has written and arranged the film’s on-screen violin music, which is performed by violinist Tim Fain. The soundtrack will be released physically on November 11, 2013. 12 Years a Slave is directed by Steve McQueen and stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael Fassbender, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Dano, Paul Giamatti, Lupita Nyong’o, Sarah Paulson, Brad Pitt and Alfre Woodard. salems-lotIntrada Records has released the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1979 TV mini-series Salem’s Lot based on the Stephen King vampire novel, directed by Tobe Hooper and starring David Soul, Bonnie Bedelia, James Mason and Lance Kerwin. The 2-CD set features the series’ original score composed and conducted by Harry Sukman (Song Without End). The composer received an Emmy nomination for his work on the project. paul-haslingerPaul Haslinger is scoring the upcoming thriller No Good Deed. The film is directed by Sam Miller (Luther) and stars Idris Elba, Taraji P. Henson, Henry Simmons, Kate del Castillo and Mark Smith. The movie follows a former district attorney turned stay-at-home mom and her two children who are terrorized and kidnapped after she invites a stranger into their home to wait for help after his car runs off the road. Aimee Lagos (96 Minutes) has written the screenplay and Will Packer (Think Like a Man, Obsessed, Stomp the Yard) is producing the project through his Rainforest Films company, alongside Lee Clay (Beautiful Boy). herculesTuomas Kantelinen is reteaming with director Renny Harlin on the upcoming period action adventure Hercules: The Legend Begins. The film stars Kellan Lutz in the title role, alongside Liam McIntyre, Gaia Weiss, Scott Adkins, Roxanne McKee and Liam Garrigan. The movie tells the love story between the son of Zeus and the mortal princess of Crete, who was promised to his own brother despite her love for Hercules. Harlin has co-written the screenplay with Sean Hood (Conan the Barbarian, Halloween: Resurrection) and Steve Giulio. Les Welden and Danny Lerner (The Expendables 2Olympus Has Fallen) are producing the  Nu Image/Millennium Films production. Harlin has previously collaborated with Kantelinen on 2004’s Mindhunters. contractedA soundtrack album for the upcoming horror thriller Contracted is set to be released next month. The album features the film’s original music composed by Kevin Riepl (Gears of War, the upcoming Cabin Fever: Patient Zero). The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 12, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips after the jump. Contracted is written and directed by Eric England (Madison County, Roadside) and stars Najarra Townsend, Matt Mercer, Alice Macdonald, Katie Stegeman, Charley Koontz, Caroline Williams and Simon Barrett. The movie follows a young woman who fears she’s picked up a nasty STD only to discover it’s something far worse. laurent-eqyuemLaurent Eyquem is currently scoring the upcoming documentary mini-series 14 Diaries of the Great War. The docudrama tells the story of World War I through the eyes of those who lived through it from opposite sides of the conflict. 14 stories from seven different countries have been selected from more than 1,000 accounts contained in diaries and letters, including the story of a German soldier, a French child and a British lady who volunteered as a war nurse. Jan Peter is directing the series and Florian Dedio & Elisabeth Kiledjian are producing the project with Gunnar Dedio, Serge Lalou & Paul Cadieux executive producing. 14 Diaries of the Great War is set to premiere in time for the centenary of the outbreak of WWI in 2014 and will air internationally on BBC, ARTE France, Arte Germany, RAI and more than 40 other countries.
