Clinton Shorter is composing the music for the upcoming CBS drama Intelligence. The show stars is created by Michael Seitzman (North Country, Here on Earth) and stars Josh Holloway, Meghan Ory, John Billingsley, PJ Byrne, Michael Rady and Marg Helgenberger. The series centers on a high-tech intelligence operative enhanced with a super-computer microchip in his brain who is the first human ever to be connected directly into the global information grid and have complete access to Internet, WiFi, telephone and satellite data. Seitzman is also executive producing the ABC Television Studios and CBS Television Studios production with Tripp Vinson (The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Number 23) and David Semel (Person of Interest, No Ordinary Family) who also directed the pilot episode. Mychael Danna has been tapped to score the upcoming sci-fi thriller Transcendence. The film marks the directorial debut of Academy Award-winning cinematographer Wally Pfister (The Dark Knight, Inception) and stars Johnny Depp, Paul Bettany, Rebecca Hall, Kate Mara, Cillian Murphy, Clifton Collins, Jr. and Morgan Freeman. The movie follows a foremost researcher in the field of Artificial Intelligence, working to create a sentient machine that combines the collective intelligence of everything ever known with the full range of human emotions. A.R. Rahman has been hired to score the upcoming drama The Hundred-Foot Journey. The film is directed by Lasse Hallstrom and stars Helen Mirren and Manish Dayal. The movie follows an Indian family who moves to Southern France and opens an Indian restaurant a hundred feet across the street from a Michelin starred French restaurant. Steven Knight (Dirty Pretty Things, Eastern Promises) has written the screenplay based based on the bestselling book by Richard Morais. Steven Spielberg is producing the DreamWorks Studios and Participant Media production with Oprah Winfrey and Juliet Blake. Rahman who is best known for his Academy Award-winning music for Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire, as well as as numerous Bollywood movies has previously scored the drama People Like Us for DreamWorks. Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) has announced the 16th annual Composer/Director Roundtable and 12th annual Snowball during the 2014 Sundance Film Festival, on January 22, in Park City, Utah. BMI’s roundtable entitled Music & Film: The Creative Process will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sundance House. The conversation will be moderated by Doreen Ringer Ross, Vice President, Film/TV Relations and focus on the relationship between composer and director. The participants will discuss what goes into creating a successful film score, the ingredients of an effective composer/director relationship, the Sundance Film Festival experience and more. Silva Screen Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the BBC hit series Sherlock. The album features selections from score of the show’s third season composed by David Arnold (Independence Day, Casino Royale) and Michael Price. Ryan Amon to Reteam with Neill Blomkamp on ‘Chappie’

Ryan Amon has signed on to score the upcoming sci-fi action thriller Chappie. The composer is sharing scoring duties on the project with Chris Clark and Rich Walters who also serves as the music editor on the picture. The film is directed by Neill Blomkamp (District 9) and stars Hugh Jackman, Dev Patel and Sigourney Weaver The movie follows a robot named Chappie who is kidnapped by two criminals and becomes the adopted son of a very strange and dysfunctional family. Sharlto Copley will be lending his voice to the title character. Blomkamp has also co-written the screenplay with Terri Tatchell (District 9). Simon Kinberg (X-Men: First Class, Jumper) is producing the Sony Pictures and Media Rights Capital (MRC) production. ‘Wrong Cops’ Soundtrack Announced

Ed Banger Records will release a soundtrack album for Quentin Dupieux’s comedy Wrong Cops. The album features the film’s music by the director under his pseudo Mr Oizo, including the track Solid, on which he collaborated with Marilyn Manson who also appears in the movie. The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 20, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on iTunes, where you can also listen to audio clips. A CD and Vinyl pack version is set to be released on February 10, 2014. Wrong Cops starring Mark Burnham, Eric Judor, Steve Little, Eric Wareheim and Arden Myrin chronicles the life of cops behaving badly in a future where crime has all been eradicated. Varese Sarabande has announced the details of the second soundtrack album for the CBS drama Person of Interest. The album features selections of the original score from the show’s second season composed by Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones, Pacific Rim, Iron Man). The soundtrack will be released on January 14, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label has previously released a soundtrack featuring musical highlights from the first season, as well as the main titles theme composed by executive producer J.J. Abrams. Person of Interest is created by Jonathan Nolan and stars Jim Caviezel, Michael Emerson, Taraji P. Henson and Kevin Chapman. Marc Shaiman has recently recorded his score for the upcoming comedy drama And So It Goes. The film is directed by Rob Reiner and stars Michael Douglas, Diane Keaton, Sterling Jerins, Frankie Valli, Scott Shepherd and Frances Sternhagen. The movie follows a self-centered real estate agent whose life is turned upside down when his estranged son suddenly drops off a granddaughter he never knew. Academy Award nominee Mark Andrus (As Good As It Gets, Life as a House) has written the screenplay. Reiner is also producing the Foresight Unlimited and Castle Rock production with Alan Greisman (Fletch, Soapdish) and Mark Damon (Monster, Nine 1/2 Weeks).
