During this past weekend’s WonderCon in Anaheim, CA, it was revealed that composer Kevin Kiner will be composing the score for the upcoming animated series Star Wars Rebels. The show is set between Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Episode IV: A New Hope and takes place in a time when the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape. The series’ voice cast includes Freddie Prinze, Jr., Taylor Gray, Steve Blum, Tiya Sircar and Vanessa Marshall. Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for Jon Favreau’s comedy Chef. The album features the songs from the film by artists including Pete Rodriguez, Courtney John, The Martinis, Liquid Liquid, Louie Ramirez, El Michels Affair and more . Also included is a cue by composer Lyle Workman (Superbad, The 40-Year Old Virgin) who wrote additional music for the film. The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 6, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A CD version will be released later in May and is available for pre-order here. Chef is written and directed by Favreau who also stars in the film alongside Sofia Vergara, John Leguizamo, Bobby Cannavale, Dustin Hoffman, Oliver Platt, Emjay Anthony, Scarlett Johansson and Robert Downey, Jr. The movie follows a chef who quits his job at a prominent Los Angeles restaurant after refusing to compromise his creative integrity for its controlling owner. Premiering tonight on ABC is the Hallmark Hall of Fame original movie In My Dreams directed by Kenny Leon and starring Katherine McPhee, Mike Vogel and JoBeth Williams. The film’s original music is composed by William Ross (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, My Dog Skip, Ladder 49). The composer recorded his score at Abbey Road Studios in London. Josh Kramon is composing the score for the CW drama pilot iZombie. The show based on the DC Comics title of the same title is created by Rob Thomas & Diane Ruggiero and stars Rose McIver, Robert Buckley, Malcolm Goodwin, Alexandra Krosney and David Anders. The supernatural procedural and follows a medical student-turned-zombie who takes a job in the coroner’s office in order to gain access to the brains she must reluctantly eat so that she can maintain her humanity. Thomas is directing the pilot episode and also executive producing the Warner Bros. Television production with Ruggerio, Danielle Stokdyk and Dan Etheridge. Bruno Coulais is the composer of the upcoming drama Gemma Bovery. The film is directed by Anne Fontaine and stars Gemma Arterton, Jason Flemyng, Mel Raido and Fabrice Luchini. The movie is based on a graphic novel by Posy Simmonds, which is loosely based on Gustave Flabert’s Madame Bovary and chronicles the last last few months in the life of the English expatriate living in Normandy. Philippe Carcassonne (Coco Before Chanel, The Illusionist) and Faye Ward are producing the Gaumont production. Fontaine has previously collaborated with Coulais on the 2011 romantic comedy My Worst Nightmare. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Rachel Portman (The Cider House Rules, Chocolat, Emma).
