Premiering today is the Paramount+ original series Lawmen: Bass Reeves created by Chad Feehan and starring David Oyelowo, Lauren E. Banks, Forrest Goodluck, Barry Pepper, Demi Singleton, Donald Sutherland and Dennis Quaid. The show’s original music is composed by Chanda Dancy (Devotion, The Defeated,  I Wanna Dance with Somebody, Aftershock). A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score will be announced soon. Premiering on Wednesday, November 8, is the British Apple TV+ original series The Buccaneers created by Katherine Jakeways and starring Kristine Frøseth, Alisha Boe, Imogen Waterhouse, Christina Hendricks, Josie Totah, Aubri Ibrag, Guy Remmers and Josh Dylan. AVAWAVES (aka Aisling Brouwer & Anna Phoebe) have composed the show’s original score. Interscope Records will release a soundtrack album featuring selections of the composers’ score, as well as songs by Miya Folick, Emily Kokal, Sharon Van Etten, Lucius, Alison Mosshart, Bully, among others on Wednesday. Netflix Music has released a soundtrack album for the Italian Netflix original film Nuovo Olimpo. The album features the movie’s original music composed by Andrea Guerra (The Pursuit of Happiness, Letters to Juliet, Playing the Field, Extraordinary Measures). Kevin Matley (Concrete Cowboy, Path of the Panther) has recently scored the upcoming action comedy The Family Plan. The film is directed by Simon Cellan Jones (Some Voices, Years and Years) and stars Mark Wahlberg, Michelle Monaghan, Zoe Colletti, Saïd Taghmaoui, Van Crosby, Ciarán Hinds and Maggie Q. The movie follows a father of three and successful car salesman who used to be an elite government assassin tasked with eliminating the world’s deadliest threats and is now living a quiet suburban life, when enemies from his past show up and try to track him down. Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the romantic comedy What Happens Later directed by Meg Ryan and starring David Duchovny and Ryan. The film’s original music is composed by David Boman (Wyrm, Moonshot, Please Hold). Sony Masterworks has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as songs by The Streamline Modernes, Luscious Bandit, The Brentwood Hellows, The Four Words & Sage today. The track list of the soundtrack album for the prequel The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes has been revealed. The album features seventeen songs from and inspired by the film performed by lead actress Rachel Zegler (including her previously released rendition of The Hanging Tree), Flatland Cavalry, Sierra Ferrell, Molly Tuttle, Bella White, Billy Strings, The Covey Band, Charles Wesley Godwin & others. Already available now on all major digital music platforms is the original song Can’t Catch Me Now co-written (with Dan Nigro) and performed by Olivia Rodrigo (listen to the full track after the jump). Dave Cobb serves as the project’s executive music producer. The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 17 by Geffen Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A CD version is set to be released on January 19, 2024 (click here to order) and a vinyl edition will be coming out a few weeks later (click here to pre-order). The 6-track EP features the film’s original songs written by Jonathan Sadoff (Ingrid Goes West, Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, The Peanut Butter Falcon) & Grammy Award-winning songwriter Sean Douglas, produced by Ariel Rechtshaid (The Santa Clauses, Gossip Girl) and performed by the movie’s voice cast, including Keke Palmer, Michael Cera and Bobby Cannavale. Quartet Records has announced a soundtrack album for the Spanish/French/Chilean drama The Movie Teller (La contadora de películas). The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Fernando Velázquez (The Impossible,  A Monster Calls, The Orphanage, Hercules, DevilCrimson Peak). The soundtrack will be released next week and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. A limited edition CD is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out the track list and listen to audio samples. The album features the movie’s original score written by Grammy Award-winning saxophonist/composer Branford Marsalis (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks). Also included songs performed by Victor Ryan Robertson, Tonya Boyd-Cannon, as well as Ledisi’s The Knowing (co-written by Marsalis), which has previously been released last week.
