The Scottish post-rock band Mogwai (Black Bird, ZeroZeroZero, The Returned, Kin) has composed the original music for the new BBC drama The Bombing of Pan Am 103. The show is created by lead writer Jonathan Lee (Who Killed Jill Dando?) and stars Connor Swindells, Patrick J. Adams, Merritt Wever, Peter Mullan, Eddie Marsan, Tony Curran, Nicholas Gleaves and Kevin McKidd. The 6-part series directed by Michael Keillor (Roadkill) is based on the true story of the bombing of a passenger flight over the small Scottish town of Lockerbie in 1988 and the quest to bring its perpetrators to justice. Simon Heath & Roderick Seligman (Line of Duty, Bodyguard) are executive producing the project for World Productions, alongside Steve Stark (Fargo, The Handmaid’s Tale) and Stacey Levin for Toluca Pictures, Adam Morane-Griffiths (In Darkness, Blackwood), Sara Curran, Herbert L. Kloiber (Rogue Agent, Safe Harbor) for Night Train Media, Lee, Keillor, as well as Gaynor Holmes (Call the Midwife, Vigil) for the BBC. The Bombing of Pan Am 103 will premiere in the UK on May 18 on BBC One and will debut in other markets on Netflix at a later date.
