Rubber Music will release the official soundtrack album for the psychological thriller The Surfer. The album features the film’s original score composed by François Tétaz (Hesher, Wolf Creek, RogueJudy & PunchThe Portal). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, May 2 (click here to stream/download). A vinyl edition will be coming out next month and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Also listen to the composer’s title track below. The Surfer is directed by Lorcan Finnegan and stars Nicolas Cage, Julian McMahon, Nic Cassim, Alexander Bertrand, Miranda Tapsell and Justin Rosniak. The movie follows an man who returns to the idyllic beach of his childhood in Australia to surf with his son after living years in the U.S., but his desire to hit the waves is thwarted by a group of locals when he ge ts drawn into a conflict that pushes him to his breaking point. The thriller premiered at last year’s Cannes Film Festival and is being released in theaters nationwide this weekend by Lionsgate & Roadside Attractions.
