mr-robinsonRickey Minor has been tapped to compose the music for the upcoming NBC comedy Mr. Robinson. The show is created by Robb & Mark Cullen (Back in the GameCop Out) and stars Craig Robinson, Ben Koldyke, Amandla Stenberg, Brandon T. Jackson, Peri Gilpin, Spencer Grammer and Tim Bagley. The series follows a man who jams in a rock band called Nasty Delicious that has been unsuccessfully trying to break out for a decade at night and also has a gig as a substitute music teacher with the Chicago School District by day. Robb and Mark Cullen are also executive producing the Universal Television and 3 Arts Entertainment production with Howard Klein (The OfficeParks and RecreationThe Mindy Project), Mark Schulman and Andy Ackerman (SeinfeldThe New Adventures of Old Christine) who also directed the pilot episode. The show is created by Kim and Roberto Benabib and stars Jack Black, the composer’s brother Tim Robbins, Pablo Schreiber, Aasif Mandvi, Maribeth Monroe, Eric Ladin, Esai Morales and Geoff Pierson. The comedy follows the U.S. Secretary of State, a lowly Foreign Service officer and an ace Navy fighter pilot who must pull through the chaos around them to save the planet from World War III. Jerry Weintraub (Ocean’s Eleven, The Karate Kid, Behind the Candelabra) is producing the project with Roberto Benabib (Weeds) and Jay Roach (Meet the Parents, Austin Powers, Game Change). The album features the film’s original music written by Academy Award-nominated composer Marco Beltrami (3:10 to Yuma, The Hurt Locker, World War Z) who collaborated with the director on the Scream movies among other projects. The film is directed by Michael Carney and stars Renee Zellweger, Greg Kinnear, Djimon Hounsou, Olivia Holt and Jon Voight. The movie based on the book of the same title by Ron Hall, Denver Moore & Lynn Vincent (Heaven Is for Real) follows an international art dealer who must befriend a dangerous homeless man in order to save his struggling marriage to his wife. Carney has also written the screenplay with Hall and Alexander Foard. not-aloneMercury Records will release a new single for the British hit crime series Broadchurch. The track entitled Not Alone composed by Olafur Arnalds is from the show’s second season, which premiered in the UK earlier this year and currently airs in the U.S. on BBC America. The film’s original movie is composed by Douglas Pipes (Monster HouseTrick ‘r’ Treat). Seeds of Yesterday is the final installment in the Dollananger series based on V.C. Andrews’ best- selling book series following Flowers in the Attic and Petals of the Wind, which were both scored by Mario Grigorov, and If There Be Thorns, which was scored by Pipes and premiered on Lifetime last Sunday. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. Beyond the Mask is directed by Chad Burns and stars John Rhys-Davies, Kara Kilmer and Andrew Cheney. The movie follows the leading mercenary for the British East India Company who has just been double-crossed and now is on the run in the American colonies.
