Dan Romer has been tapped to score the upcoming indie comedy Digging for Fire. The film is directed by Joe Swanberg (Drinking Buddies, Happy Christmas) and stars Jake Johnson, Rosemarie Dewitt, Orlando Bloom, Brie Larson, Sam Rockwell and Anna Kendrick. The movie follows a husband and wife who discover a bone and a gun, which leads them to separate adventures over the course of a weekend. Swanberg has also co-written the screenplay with Johnson. Michael Brook is composing the music for the upcoming romance Brooklyn. The movie is based on the novel by Colm Toibin and follows a young Irish immigrant who is navigating her way through 1950s Brooklyn and must confront a terrible dilemma — a heartbreaking choice between two men and two countries, between duty and true love. Nick Hornby (About a Boy, High Fidelity) has written the screenplay. Finola Dwyer (Quartet, Severance) and Amanda Posey (An Education, Fever Pitch) are producing the project. The movie follows a Biblical archaeologist who is hired by a local church pastor to find faith-promoting relics in the Holy Land and is forced to get creative after a fruitless expedition. The director has also co-written the screenplay with Jerusha Hess. Brandt Andersen, Dave Hunter and Jason Hatfield are producing the project.
