‘Outlander’ Vol. 2 Soundtrack Details

outlander-2Madison Gate Records will release a new soundtrack album for the Starz original series Outlander. The album features more music from the show composed by Bear McCreary (The Walking Dead, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Battlestar Galactica, Da Vinci’s Demons) who recently received an Emmy Award nomination for his work on the series. Also included is an extended version of the main titles song, The Skye Boat Song, performed by Raya Yarbrough. The Vol. 2 soundtrack will be released on September 25, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label has previously released the Vol. 1 soundtrack album earlier this year. Outlander created by Ronald D. Moore based on the best-selling books by Diana Gabaldon stars Caitrona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Tobias Menzies, Graham McTavish, Gary Lewis, Duncan Lacroix, Annette Badland and Stephen Walters.   Read the rest of this entry »

maggies-planMichael Rohatyn is reuniting with director Rebecca Miller on the upcoming comedy Maggie’s Plan. The film is written and directed by Miller and stars Greta Gerwig, Ethan Hawke, Bill Hader, Maya Rudolph, Travis Fimmel, Ida Rohatyn, Wallace Shawn and Julianne Moore. The movie follows a young woman whose determination to have a child involves her in a love triangle with an unhappy academic and his eccentric critical-theorist wife. jennys-weddingThe details of the soundtrack album for the indie comedy drama Jenny’s Wedding have been announced. The album features the film’s original music composed by Golden Globe nominee Brian Byrne (Albert Nobbs, Boychoir, The Good Doctor). Also included is Mary Lambert’s She Keeps Me Warm, as well as four original songs written by Byrne, with lyrics by Kasey Jones, and performed by Kristina Train. The album features the film’s original score composed by Academy Award winner Atticus Ross (The Social NetworkGone GirlThe Girl With the Dragon Tattoo). Also included is the song One Kind of Love, written and recorded by Brian Wilson specifically for the film, several original Beach Boys classics and Paul Dano’s performance of God Only Knows. ‘True Detective’ Soundtrack Details

true-detectiveThe full details of the soundtrack album for the HBO original series True Detective have been revealed. The album features the songs from the show, including the main titles song of the first season, Far From Any Road by The Handsome Family and the opening titles track from the second season, Nevermind by Leonard Cohen. Other artists featured on the soundtrack include Lera Lynn, Nick Cave & Warren Ellis, Bob Dylan, John Paul White, Cassandra Wilson & more. T Bone Burnett serves as the album’s producer. The soundtrack will be released this Friday, August 14 by Harvest Records/Electromagnetic Recordings and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. show-me-a-heroNathan Larson has composed the music for the HBO mini-series Show Me a Hero. The 6-parter is created by David Simon (The Wire, Treme) and stars Oscar Isaac, Catherine Keener, Alfred Molina, Winona Ryder, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, Bob Balaban, Jim Belushi and Jon Bernthal. Paul Haggis (Crash, The Next Three Days) has directed all episodes.
