Madison Gate Records will release a new soundtrack album for the Starz original series Outlander. The album features more music from the show composed by Bear McCreary (The Walking Dead, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Battlestar Galactica, Da Vinci’s Demons) who recently received an Emmy Award nomination for his work on the series. Also included is an extended version of the main titles song, The Skye Boat Song, performed by Raya Yarbrough. The Vol. 2 soundtrack will be released on September 25, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label has previously released the Vol. 1 soundtrack album earlier this year. Michael Rohatyn is reuniting with director Rebecca Miller on the upcoming comedy Maggie’s Plan. The film is written and directed by Miller and stars Greta Gerwig, Ethan Hawke, Bill Hader, Maya Rudolph, Travis Fimmel, Ida Rohatyn, Wallace Shawn and Julianne Moore. The movie follows a young woman whose determination to have a child involves her in a love triangle with an unhappy academic and his eccentric critical-theorist wife. The 6-parter is created by David Simon (The Wire, Treme) and stars Oscar Isaac, Catherine Keener, Alfred Molina, Winona Ryder, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, Bob Balaban, Jim Belushi and Jon Bernthal. Paul Haggis (Crash, The Next Three Days) has directed all episodes. The series based on the 1999 book of the same title by New York Times writer Lisa Belki is set in the 1960s and follows a young mayor of a mid-sized city who is faced with a federal court order to build a small number of low-income housing units in the white neighborhoods of his town.
