Dominic Lewis has been hired to score the upcoming NBC drama The Player. The show is created by John Rogers (Leverage, The Librarians) & John Fox (The Blacklist) and stars Wesley Snipes, Charity Wakefield, Philip Winchester and Damon Gupton. The series follows a pit boss and the dealer for a high-stakes game where an organization of wealthy individuals gamble on the ability of a former military operative turned security expert to stop some of the biggest crimes imaginable from playing out. Rogers and Fox are also executive producing the Sony Pictures Television production with John Zinman & Patrick Massett (Lara Croft: Tomb Raider) and John Davis (I, Robot, The Firm). Jonathan Goldsmith has signed on to score the upcoming indie drama Unless. The film is directed by Alan Gilsenan and stars Catherine Keener, Hannah Gross, Brendan Coyle, Matt Craven, Chloe Rose and Hanna Schygulla. The movie is based on the last book by Canadian novelist Carol Shields and centers on a writer whose oldest daughter who drops out of college and lands on a Toronto street corner panhandling and speechless. Soundtrack for Brian Helgeland’s ‘Legend’ Announced

Universal Music will release a soundtrack album for Brian Helgeland’s crime drama Legend. The album features selections from the film’s original music composed by Carter Burwell (Fargo, Twilight, True Grit, Being John Malkovich, Carol). Also included are the songs from and inspired by the film by such artists as The Meters, Duffy, Georgie Fame, Rod Stewart, Burt Bacharach, Poncho Sanchez, The Rockin’ Berries, Booker T & The Mg’s, The Righteous Brothers & more. The soundtrack will be released overseas on September 11, 2015. The domestic release is set for October 2 and features 14 tracks from the album. Visit Amazon to download the soundtrack. Emilio Kauderer is composing the music for the upcoming thriller Secret in Their Eyes. The film is directed by Billy Ray (Breach, Shattered Glass) and stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman and Dean Norris. The movie is based on the 2009 Argentinian film of the same title, which received the Academy Award in the Best Foreign Language category, and follows an assistant district attorney who is returning to Los Angeles as a team of investigators uncovers new evidence in a 13-year-old case that may finally convict the savage killer of a child. ‘Tig’ Soundtrack Released

A soundtrack album has been released for the documentary Tig. The album features the film’s original music composed by Guster frontman Ryan Miller (Safety Not Guaranteed, The Kings of Summer, In a World…). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Tig is directed by Kristina Goolsby & Ashley York and centers on comedian Tig Notaro who found herself on stage in 2012 when she opened her standup set at Largo in Los Angeles with the line “Good evening. The movie, which was originally entitled Adam Jones, follows a chef in Paris who only ever cared about the thrill of creating explosions of taste and wants to obtain the Michelin three-star rating. Dan Romer has scored the new Amazon Studios pilot Sneaky Pete. The show is created by David Shore (House, Battle Creek) & Bryan Cranston and stars Giovanni Ribisi, Marin Ireland, Margo Martindale, Shane McRae, Libe Barer and Peter Gerety. Cranston also appears in the series as a guest star. The drama follows a conman who, after leaving prison, takes cover from his past by assuming the identity of his former cellmate, and gets roped into the family’s bail bond business. Four new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the superhero movie Fantastic Four directed by Josh Trank and starring Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell and Toby Kebbell. The film’s original music is composed by Marco Beltrami (Scream, The Wolverine, World War Z, 3:10 to Yuma) and Philip Glass (The Hours, Notes on a Scandal, Candyman). Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ music digitally last week and a CD version is set to come out on August 14. Also opening wide is the thriller The Gift directed by Joel Edgerton who also stars in the film alongside Rebecca Hall and Jason Bateman.
