Nathan Barr has composed the music for the new Amazon Studios pilot Casanova. The show marks the TV debut of Academy Award-nominated director Jean-Pierre Jeunet (Amelie, Delicatessen, The City of Lost Children, A Very Long Engagement) and stars Diego Luna in the title role, alongside Bojana Novakovic, Miranda Richardson and Ben Daniels. The period drama is set in the 18th century and follows Venetian Giacomo Casanova who escapes from prison and flees to France. Stuart Zicherman (Six Degrees, Elektra) has written the pilot script and is also executive producing the project with Jeunet and Electus’ Ben Silverman (The Office, Marco Polo). Howard Shore has signed on to score the upcoming historical drama The Free State of Jones. The film is written and directed by Gary Ross (The Hunger Games, Seabiscuit, Pleasantville) and stars Matthew McConaughey, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Keri Russell and Mahershala Ali. The movie is set during the Civil War and tells the story of a defiant Southern farmer and his extraordinary armed rebellion against the Confederacy. The album features the film’s original music composed by Ryan Lott aka Son Lux (The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby) who recorded his score with a 36-piece string orchestra at Capitol Records.
