charlotte-jamesCharlotte Truman is set to compose the score for the upcoming drama Interlude in Prague. Truman who is known as a member of the Welsh band Hybrid will also serve as the music producer of the film, which will be directed by John Stephenson (Animal Farm) and star James Purefoy, Aneurin Barnard and Samantha Barks.  The movie is set in 1787 and follows the story of a few turbulent months in the short life of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart that influenced the creation of the opera Don Giovanni. Brian Ashby is writing the screenplay. back-in-the-dayRandy Edelman has been tapped to score the upcoming boxing drama Back in the Day. The film is directed by Paul Borghese and stars William DeMeo, Alec Baldwin, Danny Glover, Mike Tyson, Annabella Sciorra, Shannen Doherty and Michael Madsen. The movie follows a young half-Italian, half-Puerto Rican boxer who lost his parents and is taken under the wing of the mafia in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. DeMeo has written the screenplay and is also producing the project. hollywood-bowlThe Hollywood Bowl has announced this summer’s season schedule, which includes a number of film music concerts. On July 7 & 8, the Bowl will host its premiere performance of the live to projection concert for J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek. The Los Angeles Philharmonic will be performing the entire score from J.J. Abrams’ 2009 film composed by Michael Giacchino (UpLostInside OutJurassic World) live-to-picture while the movie is shown in HD on the Bowl’s big screen. David Newman will be conducting the orchestra. The composer of such films as House of Flying DaggersThe Grandmaster and In the Mood for Love collaborated with Lang Lang who performs piano solos on the score. The pianist was previously featured soloist on such movies as The Painted VeilMy Week with Marilyn and this year’s Kung Fu Panda 3. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny is directed by Yuen Wo-Ping (Tai Chi Master) and stars Michelle Yeoh who returns as Yu Shu-Lien, as well as Donnie Yen, Harry Shum, Jr., Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Jason Scott Lee, Eugenia Yuan and Roger Yuan.
