Bad Kids of Crestview Academy is directed by Ben Browder and stars Drake Bell, Sean Astin, Gina Gershon, Sammi Hanratty, as well as Browder himself. The movie is based on the best-selling graphic novel series and follows a a group of spoiled “bad kids” who have been placed in Saturday detention at the prestigious Crestview Academy and find themselves trapped in school with no way out, wondering who (or what) set them up. Sony Classical will release a soundtrack album for the comedy drama The Book of Love. The album features the film’s original music composed by Justin Timberlake and Mitchell Owens. The soundtrack will be released on January 13, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Also included is an original song performed by The Shadowboxers. The Book of Love is co-written and directed by Bill Purple and stars Jason Sudeikis, Maisie Williams, Jessica Biel, Orlando Jones, Paul Reiser and Mary Steenburgen. The movie centers on an introverted architect, who – after his wife dies in a car accident – sets out to help a homeless teen to build a raft to sail across the Atlantic. The film marks the directorial debut of actor Greg Kinnear who also stars in the movie alongside Emily Mortimer, Jay Duplass, Robert Forster, Taylor Schilling, Bradley Whitford and Luke Wilson. The movie follows a dentist who tries to take control of his life after a patient commits suicide. Stephen Mazur (Liar Liar, Heartbreakers) has written the screenplay. Premiering tonight is the new Fox comedy The Mick created by John & Dave Chernin (It’s Always Funny in Philadelphia) and starring Kaitlin Olson, Sofia Black-D’Elia, Thomas Barbusca, Jack Stanton, Carla Jimenez and Susan Park. The show’s original music is composed by Jonathan Sadoff (The Meddler, Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, Beautiful Creatures). The series revolves around a rash, two-bit hustler from Rhode Island who must assume guardianship of her sister’s three high-maintenance children. Marco Beltrami to Score James Mangold’s ‘Logan’

Director James Mangold confirmed on Twitter that Marco Beltrami is currently scoring the upcoming Wolverine sequel Logan. The film starring Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Richard E. Grant, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant and Dafne Keen follows an an aging Wolverine and Professor X must protect a young female clone of Wolverine from an evil organization led by Nathanial Essex. Simon Kinberg (X-Men:Days of Future Past & Apocalypse, The Martian, Cinderella) and Lauren Shuler Donner (X-Men series, Deadpool, Constantine) are producing the project. No new movies are opening nationwide this week.
Playing in limited release since this past Sunday before expanding nationwide on January 6 is the drama Hidden Figures directed by Theodore Melfi and starring Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, Janelle Monáe, Kirsten Dunst, Jim Parsons, Mahershala Ali, Aldis Hodge, Glen Powell and Kevin Costner. The film’s original music is composed by Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, Gladiator), Pharrell Williams and Benjamin Wallfisch (Lights Out). Columbia Records has released two soundtrack album featuring the songs from the film, as well as the composers’ score. Also click here to check out a video featurette about the music from the movie.
Also playing in select cities before expanding nationwide on January 13 is the crime drama Live by Night directed by Ben Affleck who also stars in the movie, alongside Sienna Miller, Elle Fanning, Chris Messina, Zoe Saldana and Chris Cooper. The film’s original music is composed by Harry Gregson-Williams (The Martian, The Chronicles of Narnia, Shrek) who previously scored Affleck’s The Town and Gone Baby Gone.
