Madison Gate Records will release a soundtrack album for the coming-of-age drama Summering. The album features the film’s original music composed by Drum & Lace (Dickinson, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Deadly Illusions, Good Girls, They/Them, Night Teeth). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, August 12 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Summering is co-written and directed by James Ponsoldt and stars Lia Barnett, Madalen Mills, Eden Grace Redfield, Sanai Victoria, Lake Bell, Megan Mullally, Sarah Cooper and Ashley Madekwe. The movie follows four girls as they struggle with the harsh truths of growing up during their last days of summer and childhood and embark on a mysterious adventure.

The full details of the soundtrack album for James Ponsoldt’s thriller The Circle have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Danny Elfman (Spider-Man, Batman, Alice in Wonderland, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Edward Scissorhands). Also included is the cover version of Shaker’s Simple Gifts recorded for the movie by Jónsi (check out our previous article to listen to the track). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday April 28, 2017 by Sony Masterworks and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Sigur Rós frontman Jónsi has contributed a new song for James Ponsoldt’s thriller The Circle. The track is a new recording of the classic song Simple Gifts by Shaker. Danny Elfman Scoring James Ponsoldt’s ‘The Circle’
Danny Elfman has recently composed the music for the upcoming thriller The Circle. The film is directed by James Ponsoldt (The Spectacular Now, Smashed) and stars Emma Watson, Tom Hanks, John Boyega, Patton Oswalt, Karen Gillian, Bill Paxton and Ellar Coltrane. The movie is based on the novel of the same title by Dave Eggers (Where the Wild Things Are, Away We Go) and follows a young woman who joins a social-media company, where she steps in front of the camera and finds her identity threatened by her brush with the spotlight. Ponsoldt has also written the screenplay and is also producing the project with Hanks & Gary Goetzman (Charlie Wilson’s War, The Polar Express) and Anthony Bregman (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Foxcatcher).
Danny Elfman to Score Justin Chadwick’s ‘Tulip Fever’
Danny Elfman revealed in a recent interview with LIVE105 that he will be composing the music for the upcoming period drama Tulip Fever. The film is directed by Justin Chadwick (The Other Boyleyn Girl) and stars Alicia Vikander, Dane DeHaan, Jack O’Connell, Christoph Waltz, Holliday Grainger, Zach Galifianakis, Judi Dench, Matthew Morrison, Tom Hollander, Cara Delevingne and Cressida Bonas. The movie is set in 17th century Amsterdam and follows a married woman who begins a passionate affair with an artist hired to paint her portrait. Tom Stoppard (Shakespeare in Love, Empire of the Sun, Brazil) has written the screenplay based on the romance novel by Deborah Moggach. Alison Owen (Saving Mr. Banks, Jane Eyre, Elizabeth) is producing the project for Ruby Films.
Rob Simonsen to Score ‘The Spectacular Now’
Rob Simonsen has been tapped to score the comedy drama The Spectacular Now. The film is directed by James Ponsoldt (Smashed) and stars Shailene Woodley, Miles Teller, Brie Larson, Kyle Chandler, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Bob Odenkirk and Andre Royo. The movie follows a high school senior and the mercurial introvert he attempts to “save” from life as a social outcast. The dramedy is based on a novel by Tim Tharp and has been adapted for the screen by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber (500 Days of Summer, which Simonsen co-scored). Tom McNulty (Date Night) & Shawn Levy (A Night at the Museum), Michelle Krumm and Andrew Lauren are producing the 21 Laps, Global Produce and ALP production.
