Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the comedy drama Elvis & Nixon. The album features the film’s original music composed by Edward Shearmur (Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Miss Congeniality, Charlie’s Angels, Cruel Intentions). Also included are the songs from the film by artists including Sam & Dave, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Otis Reeding, Sister Rosetta Tharpe & more. The soundtrack will be released on April 22, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Elvis & Nixon is directed by Liza Johnson and stars Michael Shannon, Kevin Spacey, Alex Pettyfer, Johnny Knoxville, Colin Hanks, Evan Peters, Sky Ferreira, Tracy Letts, Tate Donovan and Ashley Benson. The movie tells the story of the infamous meeting between Elvis Presley and Richard Nixon in 1970, which was immortalized in the most requested photograph in the National Archives. Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the faith-based drama God’s Not Dead 2 directed by Harold Cronk and starring Melissa Joan Hart, Jesse Metcalfe, David A.R. White, Ernie Hudson, Hayley Orrantia, Robin Givens, Fred Dalton Thompson, Maria Canals-Barrera and Sadie Robertson. The film’s original music is composed by Will Musser who previously scored the 2014 original film. Fair Trade Services has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from and inspired by the film by such artists as Newsboys, Citizen Way, John Tibbs, Audio Adrenaline, The Afters, Micah Taylor & more. Also opening wide is the comedy Meet the Blacks directed by Deon Taylor and starring Mike Epps, George Lopez, Mike Tyson, Bresha Webb, Zulay Henao, Gary Owen, Charlie Murphy, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, Paul Mooney, Andrew Bachelor, Lil Duvall, Perez Hilton, DeRay Davis and Lavell Crawford. Abel Korzeniowski is reteaming with director Tom Ford on the upcoming dramatic thriller Nocturnal Animals. The film stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Amy Adams, Isla Fisher, Kim Basinger, Michael Shannon, Ellie Bamber and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. The movie is based on the 1993 novel Tony And Susan by Austin Wright and follows a woman who receives a book manuscript from her ex-husband, a man whom she left 20 years earlier, asking for her opinion.
