Caldera Records has announced a soundtrack album for the historical drama The Black Prince. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by George Kallis (Highlander: The Source, Albion: The Enchanted Stallion, Joy Division). The details of the soundtrack album for the action adventure The Mummy have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Brian Tyler (Fast & Furious series, Iron Man 3, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Now You See Me, Thor: The Dark World). The soundtrack will be released digitally on June 9, 2017 by Back Lot Music and will be available to download here. A CD version will be released on June 16 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the superhero movie Wonder Woman directed by Patty Jenkins and starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Ewen Bremner and Saïd Taghmaoui. The film’s original music is composed by Rupert Gregson-Williams (Hacksaw Ridge, The Legend of Tarzan, The Crown). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as Sia’s original song To Be Human. Also opening wide is the animated feature Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie directed by David Soren and featuring the voices of Kevin Hart, Ed Helms, Nick Kroll, Thomas Middleditch, Jordan Peele and Kristen Schaal. Theodore Shapiro (Ghostbusters, The Devil Wears Prada, Tropic Thunder) has composed the film’s original score and was also involved as co-writer and arranger/producer for several of the songs. Virgin Records has released a soundtrack album featuring three tracks from the composer’s score, as well as songs by Andy Grammar, Adam Lambert, Nathan Willett & more. Harold Faltermeyer to Return for ‘Top Gun: Maverick’

Tom Cruise revealed in a recent interview with Access Hollywood that music by composer Harold Faltermeyer will be featured in the upcoming sequel Top Gun: Maverick. Cruise will return to star in the movie. Joseph Kosinski (Tron: Legacy, Oblivion) is reportedly in talks to direct and Jerry Bruckheimer (Pirates of the Caribbean, The Rock, Armageddon, Remember the Titans) and Skydance’s David Ellison (Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, Terminator Genisys) will be producing the project. Faltermeyer previously scored the 1986 film and was honored with a Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance for his Top Gun Anthem. Read the rest of this entry »

Mychael Danna and Jeff Danna are composing the music for the upcoming animated feature The Breadwinner. The film based on young adult novel by Deborah Ellis is directed by Nora Twomey (The Secret of Kells). The movie tells the story of Parvana, a young girl living under the Taliban regime, who cuts her hair and disguises herself as a boy in order to provide for her family after her father is imprisoned. Anthony Leo and Andrew Rosen are producing the project for Aircraft Pictures, alongside Tomm Moore and Paul Young (Song of the Sea) for Cartoon Salon, and Stephan Roelants for Melusine Productions.
