Varese Sarabande has announced the details of the soundtrack album for the action thriller American Made. The album features classic songs from the 70’s by Linda Ronstadt, The Allman Brothers, Walter Murphy, as well as tracks by Townes Van Zandt, Louis Clark and The Royal Philharmonic & more. Also included are three tracks from the film’s original score composed by Christophe Beck (Frozen, Ant-Man, Edge of Tomorrow, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Hangover). See-Saw Films has released a soundtrack album for the limited series Top of the Lake: China Girl. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Mark Bradshaw (Bright Star, Resistance, The Daughter) who previously scored the 2012 original series. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Top of the Lake: China Girl is produced, co-written and -directed by Jane Campion and stars Elisabeth Moss, Gwendoline Christie, Nicole Kidman, David Dencik, Alice Englert, Ewen Leslie, David Wenham, Damon Herriman and Geoff Morrell. Atli Orvarsson is scoring the new NBC mini-series Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders. The show is created by Rene Balce and stars Edie Falco, Gus Halper, Heather Graham, Josh Charles and Miles Gaston Villanueva. The 8-parter centers on the trial of Lyle and Erik Menendez who were convicted in 1996 for the murder of their parents. Dick Wolf is executive producing the Universal Television and Wolf Films production with Peter Jankowski, Arthur W. Forney and Lesli Linka Glatter (Homeland) who also directed two episodes. La-La Land Records has released a new remastered soundtrack album for Paramount Pictures’ 2004 sci-fi/fantasy adventure Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow directed by Kenny Conrad and starring Gwyneth Paltrow, Jude Law and Angelina Jolie. The album features the film’s expanded score composed by Edward Shearmur (Charlie’s Angels, Cruel Intentions, Johnny English, Reign of Fire), including over an hour of previously unreleased music. CBS has published a behind-the-scenes video featuring the main theme from Star Trek: Discovery. The video features footage of Emmy Award-winning composer Jeff Russo (Fargo, Legion, The Night Of, Snowfall, Power) recording his theme with a 60-piece orchestra, as well as interviews with Russo himself and co-creator/executive producer Alex Kurtzman. Classical violinist Pekka Kuusisto and percussionist Samuli Kosminen are set to compose the music for the upcoming animated series Moominvalley. The show based on Scandinavian’s children’s books The Moomins is produced by the Finnish production company Gutsy Animations and will feature the voices of Rosamund Pike, Taron Egerton, Kate Winslet, Warwick Davis, Matt Berry, Richard Ayoade, Will Self and Akiya Henry. Steve Box (The Curse of the Were-Rabbit) is directing the series. Mark Huckerby & Nick Ostler (Howl, Don’t Knock Twice) serve as writers and John Woolley (Shaun the Sheep) is producing the project.
