‘Never Heard’ Soundtrack Released

Raise Em Up Records Records has released a soundtrack album for the faith-based drama Never Heard. The album features songs from and inspired by the film, including the title song performed by Taylor McCants, as well as tracks by artist such as Panterra, Uri Grey, David Banner, Wass Morgan, James Fortune, Jekalyn Carr, Jerome Wiggins, Ania John & others. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Never Heard is directed by Josh Webber and stars Aaron Banner, Robin Givens and Romeo Miller.. The movie centers on a man accused of murder and incarcerated for a crime he swears he did not commit. The drama was released in around 500 U.S. theaters on November 1 as a Fathom Event and is now available on VOD, Blu-ray and DVD. Read the rest of this entry »

Jeff Beal (House of Cards, Monk, Appaloosa, Rome, Carnivale, Ugly Betty) is scoring the upcoming documentary Mike Wallace Is Here. The film is directed by Avi Belkin and centers on 60 Minutes newsman Mike Wallace who went head-to-head with the world’s most influential figures for half a century. The movie tracks Wallace’s storied career and troubled personal life while unpacking how broadcast journalism evolved to today’s precarious tipping point. Belkin is also producing the project with Rafael Marmor, John Battsek (How I Live Now, Studio 54), Peggy Drexler and Christopher Leggett (Becoming Bond). Read the rest of this entry »

Premiering tonight is the Syfy original series Nightflyers developed by Jeff Buhler based on George R.R. Martin’s novella and the 1987 film of the same name and starring Eoin Macken, David Ajala, Sam Strike, Maya Eshet, Angus Sampson, Jodie Turner-Smith, Brian F. O’Byrne and Gretchen Mol. The show’s original music is composed by Will Bates (The Path, The Looming Tower, I Origins, The Magicians). Also premiering tonight is Freeform original feature Life-Size 2 directed by Steven K. Tsuchida and starring Tyra Banks, Francia Raisa, Gavin Stenhouse, Shanica Knowles, Hank Chen and Alison Fernandez. Germaine Franco (Tag, Dope, Vida) has composed the film’s original score. Walt Disney Records has released a new version of the song Be a Star (originally written for the first movie, which premiered in 2000) performed by Tyra Banks. Peter Hurford’s Interpretation of Bach’s ‘Fantasia In C Minor’ from Yorgos Lanthimos’ ‘The Favourite’ Released

Decca Records has released organist Peter Hurford’s interpretation of J.S. Bach’s Fantasia In C Minor, BWV 562 from Yorgos Lanthimos’ historical comedy drama The Favourite. The track is now available to download as a digital single on Amazon. The single marks the first and to date only official release of music from the film. The Favourite starring Olivia Colman, Emma Stone, Rachel Weisz, Nicholas Hoult, Joe Alwyn, James Smith, Mark Gatiss and Jenny Rainsford centers on the bitter battle between cousins to be the court favorite during the reign of Queen Anne in the early 18th century. Republic Records has released the songs This Old Heart Of Mine (Is Weak For You) and Hold On I’m Coming from the soundtrack for Drew Goddard’s mystery thriller Bad Times at the El Royale. Both tracks are performed by Cynthia Erivo who performed the songs on screen in the movie. Her cover of The Isley Brothers’ This Old Heart Of Mine is available to download here and the cover of Sam & Dave’s Hold On I’m Coming can be downloaded on Amazon. Both songs were missing from the original soundtrack album for the thriller, which also stars Jeff Bridges, Dakota Johnson, Jon Hamm, Lewis Pullman, Cailee Spaeny, Nick Offerman and Chris Hemsworth. The only movie opening in theaters nationwide this week is the horror thriller The Possession of Hannah Grace directed by Diederik Van Rooijen and starring Shay Mitchell, Grey Damon, Kirby Johnson and Stana Katic. The film’s original music is composed by John Frizzell (Alien: Resurrection, Dante’s Peak, Office Space, The Following). No soundtrack album has been announced. Opening in limited release is the zombie musical Anna and the Apocalypse directed by John McPhail and starring Ella Hunt, Malcolm Cumming, Sarah Swire, Ben Wiggins, Marli Siu, Mark Benton and Paul Kaye. Roddy Hart & Tommy Reilly have composed the film’s original music. Interscope Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs written by the composers and performed by the movie’s cast. Tyra Banks has recorded a new version of the song Be a Star for the Freeform original movie Life-Size 2. The song, which was originally written by George Blondheim & Mark Rosman for the first 2000 Life-Size movie (click here to download), has been released as a digital single from Walt Disney Records and is available to download here. Check out the music video after the jump. Germaine Franco (Tag, Dope, Vida) has composed the original score for Life-Size 2, which is directed by Steven K. The album features the film’s original music composed by Philippe Rombi (Swimming Pool, In the House, Angel, Joyeux Noel) who previously scored the last entry in the series, Asterix and Obelix: Mansion of the Gods. The album features the composer’s music from the 1979 Academy Award-nominated drama …And Justice for All directed by Norman Jewison and starring Al Pacino, Jack Warden & John Forsythe, the 1981 Academy Award-nominated drama Absence of Malice directed by Sidney Pollack and starring Paul Newman, Sally Field & Melinda Dillon, 1976’s Murder by Death directed by Robert Moore and starring Eileen Brennan, Truman Capote, James Coco, Peter Falk, Sir Alec Guinness, David Niven, Peter Sellers, Maggie Smith & Nancy Walker.
