Premiering tonight is the Syfy original series Nightflyers developed by Jeff Buhler based on George R.R. Martin’s novella and the 1987 film of the same name and starring Eoin Macken, David Ajala, Sam Strike, Maya Eshet, Angus Sampson, Jodie Turner-Smith, Brian F. O’Byrne and Gretchen Mol. The show’s original music is composed by Will Bates (The Path, The Looming TowerI OriginsThe Magicians). Also premiering tonight is Freeform original feature Life-Size 2 directed by Steven K. Tsuchida and starring Tyra Banks, Francia Raisa, Gavin Stenhouse, Shanica Knowles, Hank Chen and Alison Fernandez. Germaine Franco (TagDopeVida) has composed the film’s original score. Walt Disney Records has released a new version of the song Be a Star (originally written for the first movie, which premiered in 2000) performed by Tyra Banks. Premiering on Friday, December 7, is the drama Icebox written and directed by Daniel Sawka and stars Anthony Gonzales, Genesis Rodriguez, Matthew Moreno and Omar Leyva. The film’s original music is composed by Steve Mazzaro (The Boss BabyBullet to the Head). Hans Zimmer (Gladiator, Inception, The Lion King) has provided additional music. The movie, which follows a 12-year-old Honduran whose dangerous quest for a better life is interrupted when he’s interned at a US immigration detention centre full of other kids, premiered at this year’s Toronto Film Festival and is being released exclusively on HBO. Also premiering on Friday in the U.S. is the Canadian TV series Bad Blood created by Simon Barry and starring Anthony LaPaglia, Kim Coates, Paul Sorvino, Enrico Colantoni, Brett Donahue, Maxim Roy and Tony Nappo. FM Le Sieur (Being Human, Security) has composed the show’s original music. The crime drama follows the true story of the Rizzuto family and its associates, who presided over organized crime in Montreal for decades. The series premiered in Canada last year and is making its domestic debut exclusively on Netflix.

Another show premiering on Friday is Netflix’s second German original series Dogs of Berlin created and directed by Christian Alvart and starring Felix Kramer, Fahri Yardim, Katharina Schüttler, Anna Maria Mühe, Katrin Sass, Hannah Herzsprung, Antonio Wannek, Mišel Matičević, Jasna Fritzi Bauer and Constantin von Jascheroff. The show’s original music is composed by Ali N. Askin, Maurus Ronner and Christoph Schauer. The drama, which follows two cops as they investigate the murder of a famous Turkish-German soccer player, will be available to stream exclusively on Netflix.
