Tamar-kali is reuniting with director Dee Rees on the upcoming drama The Last Thing He Wanted. The movie is based on the 1996 novel of the same title by Joan Didion and stars Anne Hathaway, Ben Affleck, Toby Jones, Rosie Perez, Willem Dafoe, Edi Gathegi and Mel Rodriguez. The movie centers on a journalist who finds herself on dangerous ground as the Iran Contra Affair’s arms for drugs plot reaches its tipping point. Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for Barry Jenkins’ drama If Beale Street Could Talk. The album features the film’s original music composed by Nicholas Britell (The Big Short, Battle of the Sexes, Succession, Vice) who previously scored the director’s Moonlight, for which he received his first Academy Award nomination. The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 9 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A vinyl version is also in the works. If Beale Street Could Talk is written and directed by Jenkins and stars KiKi Layne, Stephan James, Regina King, Colman Domingo, Teyonah Parris, Brian Tyree Henry and Michael Beach. Brian Tyler (Iron Man 3, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Crazy Rich Asians, Fast & Furious) & Breton Vivian have been tapped to score the upcoming romantic drama Five Feet Apart. The film is directed by Justin Baldoni and stars Haley Lu Richardson, Cole Sprouse, Moises Arias, Kimberly Hebert Gregory, Parminder Nagra and Claire Forlani. The movie follows two young people who meet and fall in love while being treated for their illnesses, knowing that they are both living on borrowed time. Mikki Daughtry & Tobias Iaconis (The Curse of La Llorona) wrote the screenplay. The album features the songs from the movie written by Roddy Hart & Tommy Reilly and performed by cast members including Ella Hunt, Malcolm Cumming, Sarah Swire, Ben Wiggins, Marli Siu, Mark Benton, Paul Kaye & others. The album features the film’s original music composed by Camille Bazbaz (Priceless, Après Vous). Patrick Doyle (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Brave, Sense and Sensibility, Rise of the Planet of the Apes) is reteaming with Kenneth Branagh on the upcoming historical drama All Is True. Branagh is also starring in the film, alongside Judi Dench and Ian McKellen. The movie is set in 1613 and follows William Shakespeare as he returns to Stratford after his renowned Globe Theatre burns to the ground, where he must face a troubled past and a neglected family.
