Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for the Japanese animated feature Mirai. The album features the film’s original music composed by Masakatsu Takagi (Wolf Children, The Boy and the Beast). The soundtrack is already available in several markets and will be released in the U.S. later this month. Visit Amazon to pre-order the CD version, which is set to come out on November 30 and listen to a full track after the jump. Mirai is written and directed by Mamoru Hosoda and follows a young boy who encounters a magical garden which enables him to travel through time and meet his relatives from different eras. Chance The Rapper & Nico Segal to Develop Movie Musical ‘Hope’

Deadline is reporting that Chance The Rapper is developing the original movie musical Hope. The hip-hop artist who recently contributed music to Illumination’s animated feature Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch is producing the MGM production with Pat Corcoran and Scott Bernstein (Straight Outta Compton, The Turning). Grammy-winning songwriter and producer Nico Segal (aka Donnie Trumpet) will oversee the creation of the film’s original music.
